Football fans want the highlights. TV producers think football fans want kitchen table innovation and a pat on the head for supporting a shit team.

This was a terrible programme. I wish that I could go in to detailed analysis but I quite simply couldn't deal with more than 10 minutes of this tripe. I will spend the rest of my days not knowing what the 'awful spinning league tables' were. I am pleased that I will never know

There's a reason MOTD has lasted so long, you don't need gimmicks, we just want to see the highlights.

I'm watching Football Focus now and there's even people standing up and talking on that. Dion Dublin is currently standing up and talking about football, touching a screen.

What is this latest obsession of having presenters walking around with ipads.

My first time watching it from the start tonight... lets hope they really have taken notes this weekend from feedback.

HERE WE GO.

Edit.. Games being 'in order' mentioned immediately. Thank fuck.

Best thing about a Sunday kickoff is that we're not associated with this show this week.

It's much better already, but there's still too much talking for my liking.

I'd be happier with no analysis, especially as all they've talked about is referees, but on the whole it's been a lot better than I expected.

Yeah I really don't care what other people think of the action. I just want to see goals and more highlights.

Enjoying it so far though.

Kept it simple this week, it's better. Could still improve though.

No manager interviews though...

"Dust ourselves off and go again"
"We've been working hard at that all week in training"
"At the end of the day, he's just not that type of lad"

Hope that's enough to keep you going for this week.

Slightly improved.

Not quite there yet though, still a lot of unnecessary waffling.

Particularly enjoyed Jamie Cureton being asked the same question about David Nugent rephrased 3 times.

Although a lot of the content is usual cliched stuff, I do like just having the brief 15 second or so Q&A clips of the managers after each set of highlights. There's few new lesser known coaches in the Championship like Clement and the two new guys at Brentford & Wednesday (whose names I can't spell) - I wanna know more of what they're about, their demeanor etc.. without actually having to make much of an effort.

Hope that's the next change they make, to bring 'em back, for every match (in the Championship at least).

Goodness me, I always forward through the managers, worse than the "pundits" talking shite.

Just watched it online, the presenters aren't great but I don't really understand why people are pissing and moaning about it. The highlights are fine.

Na, even if they're talking shite I wanna see it in evidence to be able to form whatever opinion, rather than knowing sod all about any of them (the new ones at least). Plus it's fun watching the ones under pressure squirming and sweating their way through the questions, esp. if it's us that's just beaten them.

Good point. I particularly enjoyed Dougie Freedman coming out with the exact same excuse on The Football League Show for another dire defeat towards the end of his tenure at Bolton.

I agree, I'd like to see at least a brief clip of managers post-match.
Couldn't care less about the pundits, they seemed much more keen to talk about referees than the teams or players anyway.
