Howard looked fine as well considering the stick he was getting pre-match.

He should have saved the goal and his punch leading up to it wasn't great either. He shouldn't have played

No case to answer m'lord. How in the holy hell did Ramires and McCarthy get booked in this incident, and Ivanovic get fuck all? Weak ref, let himself be bullied all night long, the red card was obvious as soon as Fabregas went running over screaming at the ref before Willian had even hit the deck. I texted Arkan after 20 minutes and said nailed on we'd have a man sent off. It was obvious at that point. Reminded me of the game away at Man City a few seasons ago after we'd won there 4 years on the trot, and Mancini had a little hissy fit in the press before the game about us being overly physical. Job done, our whole midfield got booked first half and we then couldnt make a tackle for the rest of the game. Same last night, Besic and Barry booked in the first 20 minutes, thats our defensive midfield fucked. We could sub one off at half time, we couldnt sub both. Vile set of bastards who when they cant get their own way, have to resort to crap like this...then cry conspiracy and walk out of press conferences.

Wonder if there will be any talk of that campaign against Chelsea now?

Howard should save that.

Glad it wasnt just me. He has quite a history of getting beat on his near post. Willian's shot travelled quite a long way, there wasnt an enormous amount of pace on it, and the deflection didnt deviate the direction that much (for example the way the disallowed goal did)

Think Barry will get a 3 game ban, chance for McCarthy & Besic to play together.

According to the Echo, such is the ridiculousness of the Premier League and their stupid rules, he will only get a one game ban! Now I always thought too that if you get a booking that takes you up to a suspension, then get a second yellow, then you get the extra game the red card incurs, on top of what you were already suspended. But according to the Echo, the second yellow means he will only serve a ban for the red card, but should he get booked in his next game, that will be classed as that suspension booking, and then he will miss 2 games...pathetic I know. And dont forget he's still eligible for Europe, so will no doubt start the Young Boys games...

He should do that against Leicester, but I don't think he will. Martinez won't drop Naismith at moment. I love Naismith but he's not that good and should be taken out of the team now and then so we can play with two proper wingers.

Mirallas has really gone off form since missing that west brom pen. He's become really selfish since the start of the year and was rightly dropped today, he's going to have a lot of work to don't win the fans back. He really should have put Coleman through tonight too. So frustrating to know we could have won that game tonight

I agree completely about Mirallas, like I said, its like he wanted to go, we didnt let him, and now he's having a strop about it. Looks like he doesnt want to know half the time, then when he gets the ball, tries to do it all himself like he's in the shop window. He'll be gone in the summer, guaranteed. Agree on naismith too, good player and important for us, but he is woefully out of form at the minute, and like Barkley needed dropping for a bit recently, now its Naismith's turn. To be fair to Barkley, he played well last night, glad to see it was him in the middle rather than Naismith. We need to play those 2 wide players though, playing just one wide players just makes us utterly predictable and so easy to isolate. Lennon had one or two good moments last night, and combined well with Coleman, but with nothing on the other side, we were always trying to go down that side, and it just made it easier for Chelsea to mark up.

Think it was earlier in this thread I said I like Oviedo out wide rather than left back, Id be happy to start the next game with him and Lennon out wide and Barkley through the middle. (Next League match I mean, I think Lennon is cup tied for Europe)

Howard looked fine as well considering the stick he was getting pre-match.

Being a class goalkeeper is about more than just making saves. Having watched Petr Cech for 10 years, you should know that better than anybody. The cliche about shit keepers is 'he's a good shot stopper.' Well if he isnt, what the hell is he doing playing in goal? Good goalkeeping is about commanding your area, good decision making, positioning, reflexes, bravery, handling, leadership. There was one world class save in that game last night, and Petr Cech made it point blank from Lukaku. At the time, I thought it was just lucky because it happened so fast, most around me were having a go at Lukaku for putting it straight at Cech. But Ive now seen the replay and that was a world class save, Lukaku got more direction on it than I realised at the time, but Cech reacted and spread himself and won Chelsea the game. Howard made a few saves, most of them were pretty routine, saves you expect a keeper to make and are pretty annoyed if he doesnt. I imagine in the split second after Willian hit that shot, he was pretty pissed with himself because he never caught it as well as he wanted to...hence his surprise and relief when it creeps in.

Barry would have been sent off long before the 90th minute had the ref had any bottle.

You might have said that but I lost interest after the first paragraph. The victim mentality isn't just a LFC problem is it? It's a problem for all scousers....Obviously.

The problem for Everton last night was your plan to stop Hazard, like every other team we've played this season, was to just leave one on him early doors and continue to kick him until he's on the ground. The ref had no option but to book you players. Our players did surround the ref a lot....it's a good job they did or the thugs like Naismith and Barry would have gone unpunished for challenges which are yellow card worthy.

Cry somewhere else....cos you'll get no sympathy here.

Aaawwww...my heart's bleeding...typical armchair Sky generation fan who has a bit of a cry because a team turned up and didnt let their superstars just walk through us. What were we supposed to do with Hazard, just stand off him and let him score hattrick like damn good sports? Do me a favour and take your head out your arse.

Bradford didn't kick lumps out of us and destroyed us. You don't have to foul Hazard to stop him either....you do what good defenders do and don't sell yourself when he twists and turns with the ball.

Both clubs have been charged with failing to ensure their players conducted themselves properly. No charges for any individuals,

Seems reasonable imo.
