I wouldn't wish John Still upon anyone. An absolute dinosaur
Yep, exactly what we don't need. Same as Ronnie Moore. I think John Pemberton has a good shout if we pull another couple of results together. Players like him, fans like him

John Still and Ronnie Moore could have a dinosaur fight-off to see who gets the job!

I read that the Supporters Trust offer to purchase the Club had hit the buffers, at least temporarily.

There's no wonder there is no-one coming in to buy the club.

It needs somebody with very deep pockets or it looks like liquidation.

5 years ago this would have been unthinkable but as usual it's the fans that suffer.

I thank heavens for Tony Stewart.............. there but for the grace of God......

Correct.
As part of any takeover Allen wipes the debt and cuts his losses. To the tune of millions now. The selling price is about £1m as things stand.
thw new owners get the club debt free but have to run it. Currently there is a deficit of 150k a month Allen is putting in so any new owners would need to cut costs and save money to plug this.
You could probably add 1000 onto the gates when Allen does go from all the boycotters/NAPM group but not all will stick when they see how bad the football is.
It looks grim without any takeover before the seasons end.

Hang on, you’re in that much debt plus losing huge amounts of money each month, yet Allen still has an asking price of £1m?

Why?

Because 800k is owed in debentures and other payments to current or ex directors. Apparently he actually walks away with next to nothing.

Anthony Gerrard has left by mutual consent. Is he non-league's biggest-ever flop?

I think even I feel a little sorry for Chesterfield, despite all the shite we got from the previously smug fanbase at Saltergate/whatever the Tesco one is called It's sad to think the possibility that one of the most fierce rivalries in the country could be dead.

I hope you manage to stay up and not vanish.

It’s good to see, well done to the local council as well - either they get a tidy return on the loan in the long run or if worse comes to the worst presumably they’d have a charge on the land?

Small interest on the commercial loans but a charge over the ground I believe.

Hopefully the last entry in this for a while..

Big news for us - https://www.chesterfield-fc.co.uk/n...0806-community-trust-completes-club-takeover/

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53685118

First football club to be owned by a charity I believe. Hopefully this is the start of the long road back for us.

We are also due £150,000 from Leeds as part of the Liam Cooper transfer and have a sell on between 10-20% for Sam Morsy who is due to leave Wigan imminently which should get them off to a good start.

I can vaguely remember Macclesfield going down the CIC route but I can't remember whether it was set-up slightly differently to yours or whether it didn't actually end up happening. The_Boss, Blue Lion or Semi-skimmed Silk will probably know.
