That is some exceptional bottling from Preston, fair play.
Can't see how that was bottling.

Poor finishing in a game they generally dominated.

Shit luck I'd call it.

Tom saying that penalty nearly hit the moon really wasn't that much of an over-exaggeration..

Jesus christ.

How the fuck did Garner miss that header as well?

I'd back him to score that every time usually.

Bottled it again as predicted. (known as the curse to some pne fans).
Cant see us getting past Chesterfield if Im honest, wouldnt fancy Sheff Utd in the final either. I dont understand why such a highly rated forward line cant finish, its frustrating beyond words.
We need to keep as much of the squad as we can together and win it next season..
I fully expect the "Grayson out lot" to get there way though, we have to watch another dubious manager swap around the squad to his own likening. Play offs again if we are lucky.

Port Vale fans getting a semi lob on every time they mention Garner, they are literally obsessed.

Anyway, I've watched the game back now and actually calmed down.
I've come to the conclusion we just bottle every big game we've ever been in. Which is why we have never won the play offs. Never beaten a Premier League side in a cup. Terrible on the television.

If we somehow get to Wembley, I'm not going.

Carlsberg have announced plans to open the biggest bottling plant in the UK at Preston in Lancashire. The chairman of the Danish brewing giant, Dr Cillet Bang, said it was natural for them to choose Preston because of their reputation as the biggest bottlers in the country. "They're second to none," he said in a recent interview, "when it comes to bottling, nobody does it better."

Penwortham resident and PNE supporter Dirk Mousenob was also enthusiastic about the project. "I'm reet chuffed, cha," he said, "we've been bottling things here at Preston for years, it's only right we get some form of recognition." Dirk added that when the plan goes ahead, he thinks the football club should change its nickname from the 'Lilywhites' to the 'Bottlers'. "That way," he said, "everyone would know just what we're all about."

Your lot may call for Graysons head but I must say he is one of my favourite managers in league one. I actually wanted us to get him as he just seems good at getting teams out of this league.

Best of luck in the play-offs PNE.

What an incredible day. I always fancied that if we could some how win then we would survive, but I never really thought we were going to win to be fair, but I thought we were excellent.

The defence were colossal, for once. It's normally the defence that lets us down but they were superb, and that tackle from Eastman when Beckford (I think) was clean through and ready to slot it in was unbelievable. I didn't even notice we had anyone near him until Eastman appeared to win the ball. Superb. I thought we contained Preston well and restricted them to few half-chances, there weren't any real clear cut ones aside from perhaps Garner's header, but even then he was stretching a lot to reach it.

The game started to open up after the break and we came into it more going forward, and I thought we looked quite dangerous down the left hand side. The penalty was soul-destroying though. I think it was later found somewhere in Ipswich, but that felt like the biggest chance had been blown. The atmosphere died, the momentum shifted and it was only a matter of time until Preston got the goal they needed.

But we picked ourselves up and continued to break through a few times, but we were a bit wasteful... and then the goal, bedlam. It only felt like minutes before that we realised Coventry had equalised and the one goal would actually do it, and the relief was insane. Having conceded equalising goals in the 96th and 93rd minutes recently I couldn't allow myself to think we were going to do it, but for the last 10 minutes or so we never really felt under much pressure.

It felt as good as promotion at Yeovil back in 2006, it was incredible. I had written us off after the 6-0 at Chesterfield, I had written us off after failing to win on Tuesday night. We were relegated with eight minutes to go, it was just brilliant. Commiserations to all the Preston fans, but good luck in the play-offs, at least you did have a cushion of some sorts to fall back on and give it another go next week. I'm still grinning today and keep watching the video of the goal. What a day.

Stomachs me to say it but congratulations Colchester.

We were awful today. Never turned up.

First league loss in 18 games. 1st time we have not scored in a game since November 4th.

We really are bottle jobs. Onto the play offs

Port Vale's entire season riding on Joe Garner not getting promoted, cringe.

Sunday was as typical as it gets, i'm actually suprised that I don't really feel assed about it, I thought I would be in a 2 week strop.

We were proper gash though and you could tell Colchester had it in the bag from the first kick off.

Shit that it's given The Franchise promotion but they've won when it mattered, we didn't.

You did and I don't think it has come as a shock to anyone.

We will let the Blackpool fans have their only good weekend this season, fingers crossed they won't have a club within a season or two.
