I think my main concern if I was FGR fan would be the amount of arguing and bickering that seemed to be going on in the team yesterday, even from quite early on. The defenders and goalkeeper were at each other's throats half the time (probably thanks to the silly short balls that were selling each other short) and probably best displayed when Traore gave Noble a good shove in the back for shooting from the half way line.
I agree. I've not seen team argue amongst themselves as badly as in this game.

I will say that my first visit to Colchester was very nice [except for 90 minutes of game].
Their fans and staff were brilliant and view of pitch and game was second to none.
It was lovely to sit outside with a beer to enjoy the decent weather. And the club shop is one of the best I've come across.

Also the mascot must get special praise. He was very good in doing his job. I liked his lightweight costume. Discovered he was a squaddie when he started marching military style, and we gave each other a hug when I said I had also served in HM Forces.

My only wish for this season is that we stay up, it is that simple, we have taken a long time to reach this level and it would be a shame if we go straight back down again. I think that reality is starting to sink in for many, though reading our forum you might think that the end of the World is nigh after just four games, we are now a very small fish in a large pond.

I just don't think this league has been taken seriously enough by FGR. The preseason fixtures, the goalkeeping situation, the questionable signings. The writing has been on the wall from the start. Survival is certainly achievable but having watched an awful lot of League Two football we are amongst the dregs in this league.

The club isn't really set up for league football tbh, it's a massive learning curve. Far too much focus on the media stuff pre season as well, when the focus needed to be mainly on the football. It's obvious we haven't been spending much for whatever reason, which is risky.

That being said still reckon we'll stay up, which would be fine. Anyone thinking we were going to be a top team in this division straight away, if ever, were deluded. Just look at Cheltenham. The gap is big.

I agree except that I don't think anybody at FGR stated that we were going to be a big team in this division straight away.

Every time we get out of shape we look like were going to concede!

How did Mark Cooper not expect this might happen! He’s no novice. Did he think we were that good that he needn’t consider changing the way we play away from home at least?

However, we have four points so not a disaster yet, our home form is going to be key to our survival though. So we have hope.

Away from home were going to get a regular whipping, unless we either park the bus, or our coaching staff can swap our silky slippers for magic boots.
