Huge huge game for us to get back on track. If we have dropped off permanently, our way of still going up will be through our home matches - best home form in the division (tied with Bradford, but better GD).

Gillingham struggling but come with a point to prove. We have a fairly fit squad with so many options now, no excuse not to put them to the sword, stop the rot and get moving in the right direction again. I feel this steam is going to be a bit streaky in both the good and bad ways because of the young age of the squad.

If you don’t beat us tomorrow then I would be worried if I were you.
We are the worst team in the division over the last 20 games, and yes, that includes you Carlisle

Newport v Carlisle

Unsurprisingly I’m not going to this. Don’t rate our chances at all.

For some reason Carlisle are the bookies favourites to win this match. Despite the fact Newport are the home team, have won their last 3 games and are facing a Carlisle team on the back of 3 defeats, cut adrift at the bottom of the football league. Baffling.

Based on current form I can only see this going one way and that is a Newport win. Hughes still hasn’t had enough time to change anything really.

It's years of being a Vale fan for me. Can never ever be confident as we've been let down so many times before. From the outside, we've not moved out of the top 7 for a long time, including being 5 points clear at the top at one point but nothing surprises me with this club. We could win 8 in a row and go top or slip down to 14th.

There's not many games where I turn up and think the result is a foregone conclusion in our favour. I guess it's the trials and tribulations of a lower league football fan.
Getting on for 40 years as a Wimbledon supporter - yes I know we're not the same club before someone from the south midlands pipes up - the club I love never fails to disappoint at times. This season has something about it though. Nearly everything has clicked and we might actually beat Crewe tomorrow night.

A club is its fans. I see you as the same club.

Newport have won 3 in a row.
Carlisle have lost 3 in a row.
Newport are at home.
Carlisle are bottom of the football league.

Yet somehow the bookies have Newport as underdogs. Why are Carlisle favourites? Makes no sense.

11/5 on the home win is absolutely mad.

Plus we never win there.

Think I'll put some money on this one in that case.

Looks like Jodi is ok, will probably play some part. I expect McGoldricks game time is being managed

Would definitely take a point here. Vale are a good, physical side and typically the type of team that has enough to get something against us. Team should have plenty of belief sitting top of the form table.

Traore to get a bench appearance?

We somehow need to win our match in the first 10 minutes when we are at our least worst.

Otherwise it's all downhill after that point especially as soon as we concede.

Also potentially great news for Morecambe because the last team that went out their way to deprive the league of one of its most talented and exciting players were put under the 'Jodi Jones Curse'. Looks like the Shrimps may avoid the same outcome.

Poor Gillingham, and their fans, they have never recovered from it but it's their own fault for being so very nasty to JJ and co.

Looking on both forums, there's a mixed bag of very confident vs not very confident. It's one of those games where anything can happen. It all depends on who clicks on the night. We could win comfortably or lose 4-0. Looks like Stockley has trained today, so providing there is no reaction, he should be fit to play.

Huge boost if he plays, get him through it then 9 days off.

Very much sounding like we’ll be without Jones and McGoldrick as well.

Without those you’ll be playing high pressing, high tempo Notts. They’re our two bits of real quality for unlocking teams at the minute really, but also our remaining somewhat weak links in maintaining a press. Probably a box midfield of Palmer, Abbott, Edwards and Whitaker, which is a lot of running.

We've kind of ditched the passing around the back stuff since Grimsby as we "went back to basics" to restore our faltering form. We usually go from back to front quite quick these days so probably won't be much to press high up in fairness! I envisage we might do similar to at Meadow Lane and allow you possession in front of us as we seem fairly happy to do that against possession sides home or away really.

If we're not massively down by half time tonight away at Wimbledon we'll call it a successful night. I'd bite your hand off for a 2-0 defeat, we're going to lose but at least that won't be embarrassing.

No Jones AND no McGoldrick would be a blow. They are our magic men with quality in their boots, the rare difference makers in tight games.

Will give the Winbledon and Crewe game a watch as it seems most relevant to us. Ideally ends up a draw but got a feeling Crewe might just surprise them tonight, got to be some backlash from their last game.

You've seen our lineup, right? Literally zero strikers and a bench that wouldn't trouble my kids school team.

I'll be amazed if we don't get beaten tonight. We're on horrible form and low on confidence. The starting line up would be alright if we had a striker, but we don't. The outfield players on the bench are 2 senior players, 2 scholars, a first year pro and a kid who was at Bradford Park Avenue last season.

Another bizarre line-up from Adkins. Suppose at least he can’t be accused of not trying something different. Looks like a lot of the SWA have had enough and staying away.

Some shit luck, the horrendous pitch and the managers choice to keep bringing back crocks laid bare for all to see. Some of what's led this team is not under Lee Bell's control, some of it very very much is. I'd be ecstatic with a point, but this is more than likely going to be a very comfy evening for Wimbledon.
