d having 3 lads like that in the squad means that we can afford to pay the likes of Constable what he earns

:2thumb: Erm, no actually. Having a fucking billionaire spunking his bank account on his hobby is what means you can pay Cuntstubble what he earns, in fact it means you can pay him in mansions made of solid gold if thats what he wanted. :£:£:£

Probably easier to work out who is an average Conference player, and then see what wages he's on...

to be fair with travelling in the confrence the part time players will surely be leaning more towards semi pro with either flexible day jobs or a part time to supplement playing info. Sadly its hard maintaineing a part time squad in north east when step 5 players can get up to 200 a week whilst haveing to travel short distances

I wonder what the wage of a player would be if you added up all the players wages then divided that amount by the number of players , if we knew that then we could all start going around in circles , but hey, what do I know I'm only an average fan !

Constable also had a clause inserted into his contract. Free annual membership for the local bowls club. That's definitely a deal clincher. You can give it all the "real club" bollux you want, facts are, these players aren't interested in your short history, they are interested in the future. I've heard it called the Vision..... Footballers have short careers, they can't wait another 93 years so that Halifax are a 100 year old club again. It means nothing to these players that you were once averagely good in Division 4.

Correct, finally you are seeing that all that matters to these big name players signing for Eastleigh is pounds & pence!

No, they just don't want to sign for a club who thinks its still its former self, they want to sign for a club that is moving forward, not living in the past.
Of course money is 95% of why any player signs on a dotted line, but other than Constable, we aren't paying much different to the rest of you for all other players. I know that one player who will shortly be announced as signing for a club in this league, is being given more than he was on at his former club. He tried desperately to come to us, but we wouldn't match his wage demands, but this other Conf Prem club did, and actually gave him a bit more to make him go their way. They believed he was coming to us, so thought they had to go extra to outbid us, when the simple fact was, our manager didn't want him anyway for the money he was demanding. So we are not all about paying top dollar.

I wasn't sure until you came up with some such conclusive evidence. Thanks Inspector Clouseau

Luke Imp & David Imp, do you really believe that Gosling or Tomlinson were only on that?
If they were your top earners, then to get an average of 450-550, it means you were paying a couple less than £-0.00 to get that average down!
Not only was Gosling being paid more than double that, he also lived in a directors house, Free of Charge!!
Even Constable doesn't get that kind of deal.

Who's Gosling? If you mean Gowling, he hasn't played for us for 3 seasons or so.

Who the hell is Gosling??
Tomlinson got 600-700 a week basic, We had a squad of around 20 and a playing budget of 500k you do the math.

Gosling?

Tomlinson will have been on peanuts at us previously even whilst in the football league, so highly doubt he'll have moved on to big money at Lincoln, and it was closer to home for him.

Tomo lived in a house share with several other players while here Boss, but yeah he's a Sheffield lad isn't he?

I'm completely lost now. Are you saying Gowling shared a house with one of our Directors? If so, who?

I'm lost too, Gowling may have got more but that was in our first season down here and we paid a bit more then but not much.
We have houses for the players to share but never heard of players living with a director, you clearly know more about our club than Luke or I do and you weren't even in the conference when he was with us! Blimey!

The fact that you describe Halifax as once averagely good in Division 4 is conclusive proof that you have absolutely no fucking idea at all what your talking about. Tell him boys.:fl::bdick:

To get an accurate picture of the spread of salaries at this level, you need to calculate the standard deviation as well...

Seems like a sensible suggestion to me.

Oh no wait, there's a much simpler way to explain variance apparently. You get players to pay you to play if you pay others a wages above the average.

He didnt live with a director, he had sole use of the directors house whilst at Kiddy.
Go check.

Maybe Gowling had use of a director's house at every Conference club in the league?

I thought he was on about Gowling when he was here.

It makes sense now, because Gowling actually shared with Sinclair and Nutter (and Power for a bit IIRC) who both also moved to us from Gillingham at the same time.
