Woking fans August 2015-May 2016: "Rendell's injured so we're screwed - he's the best striker in this division."
Woking fans June 2016: "Rendell's really slow and will probably be crap now anyway."

No, you wouldn't be happy with any pay-cut if you were coming back from a year off work. So what if the fans helped raise some cash for him? The club can't hold him to ransom by offering a sub-par contract because he owes you some gratitude.

"Woking fanS".

Have you got any evidence of any Woking fan saying that except for Sparrow?

I'm a little miffed at why we don't get a coloured name - we are the Bluebirds...

Only Barrow omissions I can think of are the new lad from Morecambe, and Steve Williams leaving for Fylde.

Hereford have appointed Chris Barker as player/coach

With his experience he'll be very good at that level, he could still do a job in this division as a covering Centre Back - when he played for us last season he was as good as any centre back we had!

No, he's not. I think we've been quite lucky to shift him on so quickly to be honest.

Not a massive step down because I think they're in the South, so only one division.

That's a huge step down, isn't he quite good?

He's fat, slow and shit. Thought he was lucky to sign for a team like Lincoln last summer. Seems to rate himself pretty highly as well for no apparent reason.

I must be one of the few who thought Bush did an ok job when called upon then. Don't get me wrong, he'll never tear any trees up and isn't good enough for a play-off chaser, but he's not the worst defender we've had since falling down here by any stretch.

Bit bizarre .. I'd ask his new employers for compensation.

I would be reporting his new club to The FA, as they are not allowed to directly approach a player who has a contract at another club, but quite clearly they have spoken to him and offered him a deal to move again.
What is the point in contracts in football these days. Pointless, most are broken and the players now seem to have all the power, then use that power as and when it suits them. Those paying their wages are powerless, despite contracts being in place. They say it works both ways, but i only see things going one way these days.
I am glad our club have been amicable & professional with him, but it grates with me as to how it has come about.

Sickening, isn't it? You give someone a shitload of cash to play below his natural level, and then he gets fed up and leaves.

Do Notts County have lots more "vision"?

Anyway, welcome to the "Anthony Barry Club" Eastleigh! :2thumb:

Obviously we were not throwing money at him and NCFC are paying hm more than we were.
Or its his ego, that wasn't really prepared for non league football & he is prepared to earn less money just to brag that he is a FL Player.
The good news is, he hadn't even started training with us yet, so its no loss really.
But its just another sad day in the crazy world of footballing contracts, that are worthless these days.

Caught one look at your ground and thought "sod this'.

In recent years both Anthony Barry and Paul Carden did this to us. Barry's case being the most mercenary as he chose to go to Fleetwood in the conference north, obviously not for money. Oh no.

Fleetwood were in our league I think. Still went for money though, he admitted that.

And now he's back .. older and much shitter than before - enjoy!
I'm holding my opinion until I see him. Remember you played him in a team that used to pump it long to the strikers. He took Fleetwood up and Accrington wanted to keep him last season, can't be that bad..

Duffer has only signed a 1 deal deal at NCFC too, were as he had signed a 2 yr deal with us.
Wish his ego well....lets see where he ends up at the end of the coming season.
