I'd have had Rhys back. Nothing exciting but will score a few. If Matt Rhead can, he should have no issues.

Andy Monkhouse signs for Alfreton.

Amazingly slow but a very intelligent player and dangerous in the box.

Seems decent enough for Conference North. His intelligence and experience will make up for his being slow I think. olid enough signing who can also act as a leader for the younger members of the squad which we desperately lacked last season.

Shame to see The Beast go, but with our new total footballing style he wasn't going to fit in to our system too well.

He's slowed down a bit but is still a quality player and a top lad. Hopefully he gets himself a good club.
Someone has said he was on £4.5K a week on DC.
Great signing for Alfreton. Should tear up the conference north. Technically excellent and a real leader. Good luck Monkey and Alfreton.
Monkhouse just seems to go on and on. I remember him at Swindon and that must have been 10/12 years ago. Great athlete. Very good signing at Conf Nth level. That should boost you DSL.

We desperately need a target man type, but i can't see him coming to us. He's hated by our fans for the goading he gave us in the league game up there. Scored a great goal that day for them and came straight to us with the verbals. Or maybe he wanted our veggie pies.

Go back and watch the highlights from that game, the whole Eastleigh contingent is calling him a "fat bastard" over and over and 2secs later he smashes it in from 20 yards. How anyone can complain when he celebrated like he did (which wasn't even that bad, finger to his lips and then flopping on the ground) is unbelievable.

Its a certainly is a much needed boost. Hopefully we can build on the capture of Monkhouse now.

So you wouldn't class FGR under Vince being bankrolled?

Not to the extent people make out.

It damages our ability to get players in for decent amounts, so be nice if people actually got their facts straight before making ridiculous claims.

Haha, absolutely hilarious.

FGR spent £1.4m more than us on wages last year despite being a far smaller club. Just checked both our accounts.

Keep me laughing Chris, it's too good.

Chris, it's best to say nothing rather than give others ammunition against our team.
I do know where you are coming from though and agree with your sentiments.
Now that the previous debts have been squared up the big big money is no longer being handed over to club.

  • Even though we've lost the best defender (Ben Henneghan) in league last season we've also lost Ryan Higgins who was the worst right back. Our back 4 is improved on last season overall. Don't expect a relegation battle, but do expect to take points from Woking.

Budget £1.9m last season
Let be right everybody is jealous and would love to have him to be there chairman, but look at last season Cheltenham & Grimsby proved it can be done, also that part of country is a nice place to live + the money can attract players not like that God forsaken place called bankrolled Fleetwood,I personally don't think Cooper is a good manager anyway, biggest plus for FGR is that Brabin is a idiot and Tranmere would win this league with an average manager?

I dont need to watch the highlights, i was at the game and was stood behind the goal where he scored. Some fans actually go and watch their team play home & away you know, its not all about coming on here and being a keyboard loner mate.....

Yip we were giving him stick, and i've no issue with him then coming to us when he scored, i'm just saying that our fans will not want him at our club because of that moment. Besides, our kitchen is'nt big enough for his dietary requirements.

Cooper revealed he initially doubted whether the club would be able to attract a player of Murphy’s pedigree but praised the efforts of club hierarchy in attracting him The New Lawn.

Cooper continued: “To be honest I didn’t think they’d be any real possibility of getting him, given he was at a League One club and given how well he did at Crawley.

“But credit to the chairman and the fantastic negotiating skills of Asif (Rehmanwala – Director), we’ve managed to get him
.

More proof that our board are learning and are being far smarter with our negotiations these days, which is why we're not being ripped off and are getting ambitious players at reasonable prices.

With Asif's fantastic negotiating skills and a quality manager who knows what he wants, we wont be ripped off anymore. Dale has appointed the right people to get him value for money.

Weve just snapped darren stevenson up for cash money from chorley
He's the guy who you either love or hate, personally I'm glad to see the back of him, can't see why he's rated so highly!

Says the man with twice as many posts as me, how about go fuck yourself!
Unlike many other incidents on a football field at this level, there is evidence available, I was simply pointing to it.

Gills have signed Joe Quigley who has apparently played for Wrexham and Woking and barely anyone else. Any opinions on the chap from those who've seen him?

The Eastleigh fans gave him stick all day, if you dish it out you gotta be able take some back. Parkin had the last laugh, they went home bitter.

Bet they'd love him if he played for them.

How does that prove you aren't still bankrolled? Maybe Asif's negotiating skills extended as far as offering him a ridiculous wage for National League level? Considering his good spell at Crawley last season I'd have thought Football League clubs would have offered him terms too.
