Steve Jennings signs a one year contract for Tranmere.

Mixed feelings on this one, in the past he's shown that he's easily good enough for League One, but last season, especially towards the end, he was as bad as the rest of them. No idea whether it was the system we were playing or if he just didn't want to play for Micky Adams, if Brabin can get him back to his best though he'll be a quality addition at this level.

We've signed Javan Vidal from Tamworth. A left back I think?

He is probably crap but who knows. Apparently a full back who can play either side and also either side of midfield. He's played for some clubs down here, can anyone help us out and do they even remember him? Would like to think Mills still has his contacts there and that Morrell wouldn't give us a duffer!

Looking at his background (Man City/England youth) he seems like an Obeng clone!

Agree!
He did look like he had lead in his boots the last 3 months of the season, there's a league 1 player somewhere in there though.

Is he the guy we had on loan back in lge 2?

If so, don't think he played much and was obviously still young, but think he is more of an attacking full back.

Ste jennings has signed a new contract with us , total shock!!!! If he plays like he did in league 1 2 years ago he will be a cut above at this level.

Looks like max power is taking his ego to wigan, gutted we will have to find someone else to miss penalties now

He is probably crap.

Ha ha. Nice optimism.

Full backs who are good going forward is what you need in a 433, like Ashton and Obeng once did so well, so Newton and Vidal make sense as signings. Next season's going to be an assist off between the two of them with Louis Moult scoring over 40 goals. Maybe.

Fairly indifferent about Jennings, he's not captaincy material, but capable of doing a decent job for us.
Max Power was alaways going to be moving on, but we should get a bit of money for him. Bit of an ego yes, but even after losing the knack of scoring penalties managed a decent goal tally from midfield in a struggling side.

Thats a real turn up! Could be a coup for Lincoln IF (and its a big if) he can refind his form of his Alfreton and early Grimsby days!

Keeping him fit would be ideal.

Massive gamble lets hope he stays fit but I'm sure Mansfield said the same thing this time last year.

Rejected a new deal at Mansfield, so they must be offering right shit wages at the minute.

Yep, it's a huge gamble, on his Twitter he says he is fit and back in shape but those kind of injuries are hard to fully recover and many never get back to how they were. One year initial contract sounds like he has the opportunity for more if he can prove he still has what it takes. It's a risky signing and could go either way, please God for once let it come down on the positive side.

Hearn's good years were before we came back down here but from what I can tell it's a gamble well worth taking.

Definitely not worth the risk, in my opinion.

Never really listen or believe to any of the bullshit that players spout. It's soundbites from any of the normal players quotes when signing for a new club handbook!

Aye but he's actually signed for bloody Lincoln. I'm pissed off because I can't wish him all the best, I love the bloke and how brilliant he was but on this occasion I hope he fails miserably.

That's a shit signing, he'll never be fit. Why couldn't we just keep Tomlinson?!

Only time will tell GG if it's been the right decision to let Ben go and get Liam in.

Nah fuck time. We already had a player who we know is capable of scoring 15-20 goals a season when played in the right position. Now we're replacing him with a player we'll be lucky to get 10 games out of.

Keep him fit and he'll single handedly take Lincoln to the play-offs, but as said it's a pretty big gamble, I very much doubt he's cheap. I'd swap him for Pittman as our gamble signing but that's really just for old times sake, completely understand why Hurst never made the move.

Love the bloke to bits and sincerely hope he does well for himself, injury has stopped him from achieving what should have been a decent career much higher up. He's not signed for our promotion rivals so I hope he can get himself fit and back to at least half his best. The big shame of it all though is that he'd have gotten a wonderful reception at BP for any other team but now will unfortunately be booed to the high heavens.
