DSY's, quick, strong and will run the channels. He probably won't get into double figures because of the latter and he lacks that bit of striker's instinct that gets him into goal scoring positions. Finishing is a bit erratic.

His game is more running in behind into channels than holding the ball up.

Thanks for the info, sounds like he could work alongside Parkin then, do his running for him.

He has been sold the Vision.....
Dont see what your issue is?
he has moved to a club that finished higher than Woking last year and will finish above them again this year.
he has a realistic chance of getting into the football league with us.
Same wages as he was getting at Woking, but with a better professional outlook at his new club.

So you know what salary he is getting at EFC then do you, ATFC?

Hows Brett Williams...? Has he signed on for next season yet...?

Nothing worse than a fan of a team with a sugar daddy who brags about having money... Actually makes me want to see Eastleigh lose it all. At least at fgr we're more cival about it.

Not a chance he's on the same wages as he was at Woking! He'll be on a lot more. Pretty sure AFC Wimbledon and another football league club offered him a contract.

Oooo the ambition from Josh Payne, good enough for L2 at least. Money talks I guess.

Why on earth would he leave Woking to go to Eastleigh if he was offered the same wages?
He was offered contracts by League 2 clubs and yet he still went to Eastleigh! I wonder why...:£

I was sure he'd be going to a team in a higher league, not to a pointless bankrolled club who prevent real clubs from reaching the play offs, don't like Eastleigh at all.

Disappointed to see Josh not progress into the Football League, he's certainly good enough. Scored some great goals for us and always gave it the best he could. We gave him a chance to get his life back on track and he repaid us with two memorable seasons. Eastleigh will be paying him a lot more than we could and I'd rather have a 20+ goal striker in Rendell. Not quite sure how much he'll enjoy it at Eastleigh. They bypass the midfield with their hoof ball. The good news is that as long as Richard Hill is in charge they won't get out of this division. Case in point, the season just gone. All that money and nothing to show for it.

THE VISION - Part Two.

Josh Payne was tucked up nicely in his bed, fresh from a gentle affectionate slap on the arse in the showers from the management at the Kingfield at a job well done last season.

And then he saw it. The Vision. (TM) A fifty pound note with a wink and a smile from Dickie. Then another. And another. Dickie beckoned him forward: "Suckle at my golden teet Joshie boy, doesn't it taste sweeter than playing for those blueberry tarts at Wimbledon?"

Not sure whether to feel disturbed or aroused, Mr Payne packed his bags for the Silverlake the next morning, preaching to any passers-by about the Vision (TM) and the fountain of gluttony he saw.

He was never the same again.

He was never the same again.

With the 'football' Eastleigh play I'm afraid he might not be. He perhaps never quite developed fully as to how I might have expected at Woking but it's easy to expect a lot from such a talented player. I fear this may be one of the few chances he might get that he has turned down to play in the Football League again.

Most ridiculous statement I've ever read on a forum.

To be fair to Josh who else in his position wouldn't accept the wages he's been offered?

Decent player though (when he doesn't keep trying his 'FIRST TIME PINGS')

They don't use a midfield. They play 4 at the back then 6 strikers just chucked in front of them any old how.

Sounds a bit like our old friend, Mr Stanley. He openly came out and said he moved to £astleigh for the money, and I have no doubts that the same applies to Payne - unless he was aboard 'the vision' of course.
It's a shame because I liked Payne when he was with us and he is capable of playing in the football league, unfortunately for him this will never happen at Eastleigh.

'Fraid not. I've known Josh's family since before he was born and I speak to them regularly, won't want to betray a confidence.
Fair enough mate. He's been impressive for the last 2 years, blows hot and cold but at his best he's a joy to watch, he's very talented and it's for that reason that I'd have liked to see him join a FL club as he's clearly good enough (if he "had" to leave, although it seemed very likely). Can't really blame someone for wanting to earn as much money as they can in a short career, even if it is a little bit unambitious. I wish him well.

Problem is, he's tainted with his record. Lot's of other choices out there for Football League clubs who see players like JP a risk.

That he may do it again and they come unstuck. Remember, he was with us when he had his 'bit of trouble'. The first the club knew of it was when he didn't turn up for training, one phonecall later and we found out he had been sent down!

Fair enough, it seems to me that it was a one-off mistake and he's turned himself around but yes, obviously with his history it's a risk. I've heard that Barnet and AFCW both offered him a deal so it's probably not the case here.

You jealous bitter tossers.
Woking a bigger club than Eastleigh these days - behave!!.
Not one FL club had come in for him, so that's just BS, ask his "pal".
Same money, same deal (just 1 year).
Facts are, Joking FC, i mean Woking FC, are going nowhere fast, Eastleigh are, so its an obvious choice for the player, who isn't motivated by money, but wants a realistic chance of promotion & to be involved in a more professional set up.

As for the twat who said i bragged about the money we were paying him, i never mentioned money, i just said he was on the same money he was getting at Joking FC, which is the truth.'I've seen the contract. Just ask the bloke who knows him so well...
