Away for us, we don't win away so enjoy your three points Carlisle
Without checking I feel like our record against Carlisle is crap too. I'd happily take a point if offered one now. A nice boring 0-0 to ruin Carver's cup final.

Newport struggling for numbers in various spots and form. We're on the back of 4 straight wins and a great performance against Harrogate. Fantastic chance for win number 5. Doubt Bell will make any changes, only question mark is over whether Omar Bogle will be fit to face his former club, which I'm sure he'll want to do.

Would probably take a point, but hoping for another 3.

8th game of the season and already our 3rd 'top v second' fixture of the year. Won't pretend to know too much about Barrow other than they've taken Clemence and Connor Mahoney from our 23/24 setup.

At home we're unbeaten this calendar year in the league so no reason to fear anyone at Priestfield but it's obviously a game to be wary of. We had a comfy 3-0 win in the spring against them as they imploded at the back end of last season, but they've got the better of us a couple of times as well in recent times so there isn't really any form to go on either in that regard. I don't expect a lot of goals in this one as it's the best defence v the 2nd best, but it'd be cracking to score a couple and win comfortably which we're more than capable of.

As ever the injury list will be playing a massive role in who we can call upon, so any starting XI guesses will have to wait until late next week. I don't think we've picked up anything new from Notts yesterday, and we'll have Ethan Coleman back from suspension at the very least.

2-0 Gills.

If we're serious about a promotion push away at poor form Morecambe has to be a win.
Our record isn't great there but it wasn't at Bromley and we won.
First away game of the season and looking forward to it.

Mahoney is out injured - has been for about a month, so he won't be playing.
Clemence has us playing some attractive attacking football at present and we are also probably the most threatening i've ever seen a Barrow team from set pieces - particularly corners, where we've headed in 4 goals in the last 4 league games.

Sarcevic, Walker, Kelly, Baldwin, Byrne, Richards, and Adams all out injured. Jamie Walker is a massive miss. Still fancy us to beat Harrogate. 2-1 City.

Your sounding very confident about this one and I like that….but Barra is a different animal this season….if you get a point in this one youve done well, in my confident opinion

Like I say we haven't lost at home this calendar year so I think it's fair to be confident at Priestfield. I think we have a very talented, deep squad and we've picked up some very impressive results this season. A major difference between us and other sides this season that I've noticed is the strength of the players we've had available to bring on from the bench, a lot of clubs just don't have the depth we do - for example yesterday bringing on the likes of Jack Nolan, Jonny Williams, Jacob Wakeling and Oli Hawkins, a really strong quartet. We're also very effective on the counter, so if you come here attacking as your fellow Barrovian suggests then that will probably suit us.

Looking at your results, other than the impressive win over Port Vale I don't think you've beaten anyone particularly strong, which in itself doesn't mean much as a win is a win, but I think we've had tougher games than Barrow already this season and come through ok (bar the Doncaster defeat).

So in a nutshell, yes - I'm reasonably confident. But that doesn't mean a thing in which I think will be a very tough fixture, and were we to come up short then so be it.

I'd say Crewe's and Barrow's fixtures have been pretty kind thus far, but you've still got to win them. Our game against Barrow wasn't a 4-0 game really, but we were a bunch of strangers grouped together and Barrow were a well prepared, well drilled unit with a couple of talented players. Everything they hit went in and they looked like a team that knew their jobs.

As always in league 2, it's often those teams that can grind out wins, even if they don't appear particularly enterprising. Gillingham in the 2012/13 season were a classic example. No frills but solid and very difficult to score against.

Swindon at home. They've started poorly but I was listening to their manager after the game yesterday and he seemed really happy that they played a possession based game, even though they lost 2-0. Seems at odds with their signings, who seem to all be huge.

Last time we played them was the playoff semi final, one of the all time great nights. They had pretty much assumed that they were going to Wembley, but their arrogance backfired. Their fans and players then claimed they were attacked by pitch invaders....it was all very sour grapes.

I'm guessing that hardly any players from either side played that night. I'm not sure if that bell end Smith is still suspended but last time he played against us for Orient, he was giving it the biggin to our fans, only to skulk off with his tail between his legs after we scored 2 injury time goals to win. It was a thing of beauty.

Play like we did first half against Chesterfield and I'd fancy us to beat anyone in this league, but we were poor yesterday and I've said a number of times that we'll be up and down for the first 10/15 games. I think Chesterfield are a better team than Swindon, so I'm hoping we put them to the sword.

Away to our local bogey side. They even thrashed us 7-2 a few years ago in a pre season friendly when they were in the 6th tier!.

I have a feeling we will win this one though. 2-1 to the Bantams.

Trying to win away at a rainy Morecambe without Jatta or Jones just feels painful but also the sort of game we have to find a way to win

Swindon at home, will bring back great memories of our last meeting, one of the greatest nights at Vale Park (along with the 7-1 v Burton late in the auto promo season) and atmosphere, something we've not really experienced since the glorious nights we had in the Cup under JR in the 90's, but we've gone full circle now and its a new challenge.

Don't think it will have much bearing on this one, only 3 players on our side will still be here now and its a completely different Swindon side, I am surprised there seems to still be some really ill feeling from Vale fans towards Swindon, the arrogance was ridiculous but we used it as a team talk and did the job, the bitterness afterwards and the trouble was disappointing and unnecessary from both sets of fans but a lot of water under the bridge since then and the lads/lasses on here all seem a sound bunch so don't bear them any ill feeling and having been in a similar situation as a club on and off the pitch that they seem to find themselves in now I hope they get sorted soon, its too bigger club to be fighting the bottom end of L2 and should be punching higher in the division/L1.

Onto the game, they've struggled so far and we've been "patchy" having seemed to click into gear throw in a stinker at Accrington, all be it 2 late goals to rescue a point should keep the squad boosted mentally.

We tweaked it to 3 at the back at half time against Accy but the 4 had worked well v Chesterfield and at VP 3 hasn't seemed the best way forward.

We could do with really pushing on at Vale Park now, we've two really tough away games after these two home ties (Swindon and Colchester United) so 4-6 points would be ideal to take us into those, will be tough, always is against Swindon and we've never had the best record against them so won't be a given but hopefully we can grind out a decent performance to follow on from the last home tie.

Fleetwood at home.

This fixture last season was probably our nadir. Darrell Clarke's first game in actual charge, we were 10 games without a goal, playing against a team who were also struggling. Cue our most experienced player being sent off for a stupid tackle, two awful goals conceded, and a new EFL record for most games at the start of a season without a goal.

It really can't be that bad on Saturday.

Something tells me Wimbledon might not be playing at home anytime soon. Looks like they've had some fairly catastrophic damage to their pitch due to the recent rain.

What's happened to take the turf off? Or is that sand maybe?

Not sure what its like in London but its set in the Midlands for rain pretty much for days now so could have an impact on the weekend.

It's been incessant here in Tewkesbury since Friday. I can't believe the town hasn't flooded yet, especially being built on the banks of two rivers.

Our fans and players were attacked. Check the footage out. Never had a problem with Vale before but there's a lot that are looking forward to this game for a number of reasons
