Our fans and players were attacked. Check the footage out. Never had a problem with Vale before but there's a lot that are looking forward to this game for a number of reasons
Was both sets of fans involved hence the Police "Wanted" list, included a few Swindon fans, all totally avoidable but that was brushed over by your fans at the time. Hopefully all involved got reprimanded and punished accordingly as had no place and left a mark on a great night.

The whole atmosphere around that two-legged tie was in total contrast to the final with Mansfield and was ridiculous. Seemed totally pointless, why would any club think they are in the final with a one goal lead going away from home? It was bonkers and played right into our hands that night. Then Baudry on final day trying to stir it up (Gibbons come back was class though).

Its pretty much the only trouble at VP (bar the individual fan going on to have a go at the referee last season) since Carol and Kevin came in, so hopefully no idiots try to stir it up this weekend, as said both clubs have moved on a long way since that night. Thankfully the way Vale Park is set up now there is fairly limited mixing of fans regardless (The trial that night in the Bycars is now permanent) so shouldn't be any issues.

Fully expect a rendition mind of "2-0 and you messed it up" not those exact words and a return of "L1 and you messed it up" and that be that.

Absolute bollocks. How were your fans attacked from the pitch? Your fans initiated the reaction by launching bottles onto the pitch at our fans. We simply retaliated.

As for your players, utter nonsense that they were attacked, physically, at least. Did see a couple get verbals from some of our more alcohol-induced fans (barely looked old enough to drink tbf). Egbo claiming he got a scratch to his face following the pitch invasion. Again, bollocks. One of our players even admitted that it was him that did it in a challenge with Egbo during the match.

Everything just massively backfired from your perspective - arrogant players, cocky manager, gloating supporters - it was all done and dusted in your eyes. Silly thing to do with the game still finely balanced. You gave us that extra 10% motivation to go on and secure our place at Wembley.

Highly doubt anything will happen on Saturday given the chances of both sets of fans clashing is very unlikely given the stand swap and access points blocked off. Wouldn't really want anything to either tbh. We haven't had an ounce of trouble at VP since our first game of 22/23 when dickhead Tranmere fans thought it'd be clever to chuck coins into groups with the elderly, women and very young children in them (my son being one of them, and a coin narrowly missed both his and my friend's daughter's heads).

Garner was their manager wasn't he? One of those "Football purists", recall we beat his Charlton side the following season (think he got sacked just after) 1-0 and they didn't have a shot on target until the 95th minute and he moaned about teams in L1 being anti football. Butterworth's goal was a beautiful move created by wozza as well.

On a side note he will be facing us this weekend, I quite liked him at Vale, seemed to have something about him but one of those like Dodds where you just couldn't nail down what his best position is!

Utter shite that we attacked any players...check the footage, you won't find anything other than a few people running up and telling the Swindon losers a few home truths.

And as for missiles being thrown, all started from the away end, again if you can find any footage to say otherwise I'd love to see it, but of the various vlog and what not that I saw after the game, they all show bottles being rained down onto the pitch and then they were thrown back.

Swindon spun up a load of bollocks because they were embarrassed, they thought a home win in the first leg all but guaranteed them a place at Wembley.

Egbo, garner, mckirdy all lied. We ultimately got a 15k fine for the pitch invasion. There were legitimate failings from our point of view but there's not a chance we ONLY get fined 15k for streaming onto the pitch and attacking opposition players...because despite all the CCTV and multiple sky cameras pointed at the pitch, there wasn't any evidence of it.

For context we got fined more when one guy ran on the pitch to chase the ref last year, and he didn't get close to him.

We would be looking at huge fines, points deductions or at least being forced to play behind closed doors if there was evidence of a single Swindon player being physically attacked.

I really hate Swindon. They can fuck right off.

Dan Phillips not as nippy as he used to be?
To be fair to the bloke who ran on, he was in his 50's and considering the size of our pitch he got across it so fast he nearly solved our issues at wing back.

Looks a good chance to bounce straight back with Morecambe’s record so far.

Will feel much more confident if we have at least .one of Jones and Jatta available. Jodi was posting as normal on Twitter after the game which is hopefully a good sign, but imagine we’re going to have to be very careful with Jatta now he’s had a concussion and the symptoms have reoccurred when he came back. I’m not sure if the protocol is he needs to sit out another 21 days from the Bromley game now anyway?

I bet that was great to watch. Got to be pretty drunk and/or angry to think it was a good idea to do that but fantastic entertainment for the masses.

It was in the press at the time - https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/25547005/referee-chased-pitch-invader-port-vale-portsmouth/

It was more weird than anything as he ran the full width and no one seemed to know what was going on! Everyone was seething at the 2 decisions within a few seconds that gifted Portsmouth the late win but the lads just lost his head there.

Nothing will ever beat our disabled guy in wheelchair pitch invasion, with his carer coming running behind to retrieve him.

Ahh the old Swindon lies. Egbo made up that he'd been attacked....that's pretty low even for a footballer. Swindon fans threw things on to the pitch...what do you expect us to do, take it?

I'm assuming you haven't watched any of the numerous bits of footage available, but the trouble starts from the Swindon end and there's literally no evidence that any players were attacked.

Garner was bitter along with a number of your players who thought they had it wrapped up. It was sour grapes and probably a last ditch attempt for us to be thrown out of the play offs.

Yes, we have our idiots and I have no doubt that there were some idiots on the pitch that night, but I lost all respect for Swindon that night. Arrogant liars don't sit well with me.

I had no idea that there was a Swindon - Port Vale beef around but I’m all for it.

Fleetwood should be out of sight to be honest, got 2 should have about 5. Morecambe have had some moments, but defensively they look all over the place.

I say this with real trepidation as we play them on Saturday, but wow Morecambe look bad.

Lovely pass for the second goal though.

Nah, we're turd.
Songo'o looks finished at this level now and no idea how Angol keeps getting a gig. He has to be the worst striker we've had in living memory, and we have had some stinkers. That will be him scoring the winning goal next Tuesday then

Even though you are away, I can see you scoring about 5 against that defence

Newport are worse than Morecambe on the showings this weekend. I reckon they'll be down there with the Shrimps and Accy.

I predicted Newport to go down so I was surprised to see them get off to a good start to the season.

We host them a fortnight tonight, live on SKY

Wow gutsy comeback from Morecambe. Not a very orthodox finish from Hope to chest it in like that.

Fair play to Morecambe on salvaging a point there. If that went a few more minutes they may well have won it.

Well done to the Shrimps for that fine comeback.

Was Mayor carrying a knock, because as soon as he went off, Fleetwood lost all control

Credit to Uncle Derek for his 4 half time substitutions
