Bit arrogant. He's played in league one more recently than Hartlepool have.
Certainly wasn't meant, just genuinely had never heard of him, hope he does the bizz.

Luke George signs as well, better not say I've never heard of him either or the non league Stasi will hunt me down

Just turned down a new contract here, presumably on lesser terms. Surprised you've picked him up to be honest.

You can learn a bit here - http://deva-chat.com/thread/728/luke-george

Sorry wrong reply. RE Jake Classify.
Scored 16 in 36 games in his first 2 loan periods at Tranmere. Was less successful in his third loan albeit in a very poor Tranmere team. Since then his career has been on a massive downwards spiral. There's a good finisher/goal poacher in there somewhere. Would expect him to at least get into double figures at this level if he starts regularly.

Pleased we've finally signed someone. Any Guiseley fans on, how did he get on last year?
Disappointed to lose him although scoring goals was was not our forte last season and the club has said it's a situation they would be addressing this summer. Not sure if the club wanted him to stay or not, he didn't get the best service from the rest of the team to be fair and I wouldn't say playing as a lone striker showed him in his best light. Good luck to him though.
Wrexham fans were hoping he would sign for them.

On a positive note, Will Hatfield has signed a new contract which is excellent news.

Now confirmed that our Sam Hughes has joined Leicester for an undisclosed fee. Top player who will go far.

Whilst this is true, I would have been disappointed if Cassidy had come in as our main striker. He was always going to be a gamble for whoever picks him up, but I'm guessing the fact he won't have to relocate has swung him towards Hartlepool. His GF plays for Doncaster Belles, so a move here would always be complicated.

So is Hogkiss actually any good at this level or does he just have one of them easily recognisable names because of having had quite a few clubs?

And don't know anything of Scott Wilson???

A mixed bag of signings for Hartlepools. Jack Munns is very good, Cassidy is ok, the other two are ....not so good.

We have signed Hull City striker Johan ter Horst. Decent signing, back up striker I imagine.

Must say, out of the four we've signed, I'm more intrigued by the signing of Luke George.

He's short but looks ripped as owt, proper scouser with the scouse manner, chews gum in his video interviews. HARD AS FUCK HE IS. Wins the ball in midfield, bites players (must've run out of gum), two footed tackles soft national league c*** who think they're the daddy. Probably votes UKIP, too, with DUP but hopefully no Tory sympathies. He must be the real deal. He is just the type of player we need to wake up the other pack of fannies who have masqueraded as a midfield for at least three seasons.

Whether he's any good at football, don't know, probably not. But who cares. We've landed a midfield thug, doesn't matter if he can play or not. His type is just what we've needed for many years. Is that the messiah calling?

Dean Saunders ruined Cassidy. He was one of the best strikers in League One when we had him on loan from Wolves, and Ronnie Moore used him as an eighteen yard box poacher. After getting the Wolves job Saunders recalled him and played him as a lone striker in a woeful Wolves team that was relegated from the Championship. He was not ready to play at that level, even in a decent side with help around him. He did not score again that season and his confidence was destroyed.

I am glad he is getting his career back on track but hope he does not do too well next season for obvious reasons.

Jack Dunn is a good signing for us. He is raw but has talent, and he will give us the option of playing 442 with him on one side and Tollitt on the other.

It may of been 3-4 years ago, but i remember him looking really good when he was at Folkestone. Looks like he was pretty decent for Hull's U23s so should be interesting to see how he does for us.

That bad?
I think he's only really had a decent spell at Notts County.

He's generally dropped clangers wherever he's been and I'm amazed he's taken this long to get down to L2/NL level. Seems to have been a player who gets a move because he once played for a Championship Club, so a L1 Club takes a punt. Then L2 because he used to be in L1 etc etc.

He's 29 and played for probably 20-25 Clubs, most of which on loan and for hardly any time. Not exactly a ringing endorsement. Bar Watford, at the beginning of his career, no-one wants to keep hold of him.

To be fair, our pulling power now that we've chopped our own dicks off is virtually non-existent so he's probably not far off the best we could do.

Funny how all our new signings have described us as a 'massive club', 'big fish'. Even Munns said we were bigger than Cheltenham. No one is bigger than them surely? Being described as 'massive' is a novelty, but it's all relative isn't it?

Says something about the calibre of player we're now hiring but most importantly, doing a job in this league is the only thing i care about.

It's a novelty but it wears off. Like you we were a relatively small club in the league and a big club down here. But then ten years goes by and all new signings going on about how big the stadium is and how they want to "get the club back to where it belongs" rings hollow.

That said it's only us who have stuck around this long down here. Most other 'big' clubs make it out after a couple of seasons (or go bust).

Darlington sign former Crawley, Hereford & Southport centre-half Dominic Collins following his release from AFC Fylde.

They've just gotta announced the departure of you know who and season tickets will fly off the shelves, it's what most people are waiting on, things are maybe starting to look a little more rosy.

Busy day yesterday but we still need more bodies, that takes the squad up to 19 players minus the 3 offered new deals, I'd imagine the next signing or two will be defenders, still missing a hairy arsed CB and a LB.

That George signing does seem interesting, when was the last time we had a narky little git in the team? Tommy Widdrington maybe?

Was going to renew early next week but I think I'll hang on a bit, the Tranmere fans have put the willies up me (ooo er) with their wild rumours of Amond signing for them. I'll see what the ins and outs will be and make my decision in a week or so. You renewing?

Missing two centre halves for me like. Definitely a LB, maybe an RB if Magnay leaves (hope not). I'll still think we need another niggler in CM to cover for George's inevitable 6 month stretch for GBH at Boreham Wood or somewhere. We need a winger as well. So another 4/5 then we're done. God knows what these players we're getting will be like.

Tommy Widds wasn't quite the same though, this lad seems like a real clogger who plays every game like it's Streetfighter II. Can't wait to see him in action to be honest. So long since we had that type, probably since the Vikings invaded.
