More of a loss than Bird, only the other week he was saying
"i want to play in the Football League and want to do that with Dover. "

the bit of the quote missing must have been
"unless i get offered more money"
Still can't believe we released Parry (he didn't wanna leave us) 2 years ago because our manager thought he wasn't good enough for this level......seemed to think Ant Acheampong was a lot better player :ffs:

He must have made a really poor impression on your manager if he thought Acheampong was a better player!

A fair few of our fans questioned it at the point because Parry had just had a good season for us. Meanwhile Acheampong went on to have a shocking season, looked totally out his depth at this level and is now playing in the Ryman League!!

Similar thing with Mitchell Pinnock, we never gave him a chance, let him go and now hes come good at Dover.

In his short time with us at this level in 13/14, he looked very uncomfortable and was a pretty odd signing for us at the time considering that under Edgar Davids we played a possession-based style of football. That he was the first footballer in quite a few years that we paid a fee for was pretty galling too!

Dover’s top scorer rejecting a new deal and signing for Maidenhead instead. That’s quite sobering for Dover fans. If that happened to us, a good chunk of Red Passion would march through the streets with pitchforks, protesting outside Spencer Harris’ house.

Nothing new is it?
the season before nearly everyone offered a contract left

He was really poor, about 6'4" but couldn't win headers without pushing the striker over. Gave away so many fouls.

Oi!

Know nothing about Rees, but a goalscoring midfielder is something we definitely missed last year.
Haha typo. Can’t dummy down the lads achievements of their moves.
Good player, shame he’s gone as we’ll really miss him. Busy, good link up play, can pick the right pass and eye for a goal. Another i expected would be hard to hold on to this summer.

Dayle Southwell has signed for Halifax on a 2 year deal. Good signing that.
Is it? Quite a poor one IMO. After his last two or three years away from Boston in the NLN, it's become increasingly apparent that that's his level.

Apparently Salford are offering Rory Gaffney (Bristol Rovers) £3k/week!

I quite liked Southwell when I saw him for Guiseley, was their best player. Looked to have enough about him to do a job.

Gaffney would be a fucking ridiculous signing. Maybe Ling can step in and pretend Matt Harrold is actually Gaffney?

Very harsh on Southwell imo. Hasn’t had a full season in the conference since his Grimsby days. Scored for fun at north level and did decent in a truly abysmal guiseley side with next to no service as he bagged 7 goals in 18 games. If Fullarton delivers his promise of fast and fluent attacking football then there’s no reason he can’t bag 20 goals next season with the right service. He certainly has the tools to do so

I see Halifax have signed keeper Shaun Rowley from Tamworth. Not National League standard by any means. Weak at crosses and very error prone and not liked too much by Tamworth fans.

He was only on loan at Tamoworth, he got released a few weeks back by us.

Wrexham have approached us to take Ryan Barnett on loan. Wrexham are also close to taking Ryan Giles from Wolves on loan (spent time on loan at Telford last season).

We've signed Dale Gorman. I haven't seen Stevenage in ages and know nothing about him.
A young player who was in and out of the Stevenage first team, dropping down here to get more game time. Similar to Macauley Bonne and Colchester last season, hopefully he can turn out to be as good.
