FC Halifax have signed Devante Rodney from Salford and Manny Duku from Cheltenham on a one month loan
Go on Rodders lad, built like a tank and proper pacy, that’s about it though, all falls apart when he tries to kick the ball.

They can't afford to, it would RUIN them as we know. Hence why they are suddenly selling off half the team, naturally days after playing the game of their lives against us.

Always interested in comments about promotion ruining the little clubs
Pretty sure our chairman does actually want promotion because of the extra TV money/ FL money / increased away support/ etc. [+ parachute money after relegation]
Even if it's only for 1 season is its not worth it?

Devante Rodney is the pits.

Thought he'd kick on after them 2 goals in that game but never did. Hopeless but good on the pec deck and cable fly so I heard.

Not really, because there are lots of off the field staffing positions that have to be filled as EFL requirements for a start. Then there are requirements for media suites, youth academy positions, stadium modifications for TV gantries etc etc. That increase in money will be eaten into very quickly, and that's before you start talking about the increase in wages, not just individual players, but the footballing side overall.

I can't prove it, but I suspect it's much more difficult for 'smaller' clubs to transition to the EFL now in comparison to when Morecambe, Accrington, Yeovil etc did it.

It's not a case of 'wow, we have another £1m to spend on player wages'.

Well, he's ours now. Hope he's got lots of attitude and application. :woo:

He started off brilliantly and looked a real find. He scored 5 in the first 6 games, it went to his head, he started thinking he had cracked it. He literally hasn't scored since then. He had a few bad games and never recovered mentally, probably why he was playing for the likes of Guiseley and Halifax before that. #

Nah, that's why he ended up at Wrexham. We could have signed him full time in the summer but Fullarton didn't think he was worth the money he was asking, so he took the step down to Wrexham. Mister D fell head over heels in love with him on first sight but now realises neither him nor he are the football geniuses he thought they both were.:fl:

Talked of as being 1 of the best centre backs in the league when we signed him

He was fantastic for us, but was so ungainly and unorthodox that I always got the impression he'd struggle to adapt to playing any other way than our long ball, hit and hope. Last I heard, you were playing him at right back - he's 6ft 7!!!

He worked well for us winning every header and being a great last man. Can't kick a ball properly, but doesn't really matter.

Young Barnet defender Darnell Smith is on a short loan (assuming to the end of the season) to Wingate & Finchley. I will see him play today

I see Karleigh Osborne has joined Braintree. Decent player when fit but thing he played about 6 games all season for us.
His best moment in the Shots shirt was doing the coin toss before the Maidenhead game, and then got injured and was subbed before kick off.

How did he get on? He's looked nowhere near NL standard whenever I've seen him and was awful in the county cup on Thursday. Would be surprised to see him retained beyond the end of the season.

He was very good and partnered up well with Allieu Njie but 1 game isn't enough to judge his ability though.

Wrexham sign Jermaine McGlashan on loan from Swindon till the end of the season.

Anyone know what he's like? Small with no end product?

Gutting news for Maidenhead as Alfie Kilgour is recalled by Bristol Rovers from his loan.

Outstanding CB at this level who I'm amazed hasn't made his first team debut there yet, should work his way into their starting XI now.

Hopefully a new CB will come in now as I don't want to risk our current options.

Was with us quite a few years ago now when we were in the FL. He’d have 1 amazing game then do nothing for 5. Like you say, small and tricky but not a lot of end product, and also a bit of a diver.
Quite a few years ago now though so he may have developed.

Great things expected for Alfie. I was told about 4 years ago from one of the younger players dads . This guy is brilliant in the development squad and will have a great football future. It seems we won't have too long now to find out.
