It is what it is, a stop gap. The list of candidates was very average (that's why Wrexham ignored their list applicants and came knocking for Mills), he's apparently seen as a safe pair of hands for the time being.

I said in another thread, after all that's happened I'm just happy to have a stable football club to support next season, so if he can comfortably keep us up in this year of transition, then that's fine by me.

Yes and and he is a total c**t.

Did you watch the Eastleigh v Grimsby play-off semi? He had a full blown argument with Richard Hill after he was substituted. Not someone Id want in the dressing room.
Josh Gowling and Gary Mills used to do that here, o well.

And this is a bad thing? We need bastards in our team.

With Power and Nolan (has he even signed the deal yet) our cm's and Moyses looking at 4-4-2, we need an old head, who will do the dirty things and simply keep possession, hopefully Stanley can do that.

Yes you want players who will ruffle up the opposition a bit of course but in Stanleys case I think he has the capability to unsettle the dressing room itself
He cant be that bad at it DSL as he played 400+ games and stayed at Morecambe for a good while.
Maybe he just fell out with Hill and the 'vision' lol!!!
He certainly wont be getting Eastleigh type wages at Lincoln.

Hang on, you were the one proclaiming Lincoln could be pushing for the top of end of the table with the players they were signing if they had a good manager. Don't understand this post now.

Yes I was. But clubs who get promoted still make the odd poor sining mate.

Just to clarify I said I would fancy Lincoln for a finish at the top end of the season IF they didnt have Chris Moyses in charge who I am yet to be convinced by. :fing:

'The odd poor signing' - to go along with the other three a told you about last time.

Also, just to clarify, I noted that you said if they had a good manager in my post so not sure why you've mention it again. :bl:

Sorry misread your post.

I am not going to argue with you because you arent worth it.

Bottom Line is Chris Moyses is Lincoln manager and while thats the case I dont expect Lincoln to be challenging at the top.

Craig Stanley to Lincoln...
Was one of the worst players to have ever signed for Rovers.Absolute garbage also a problem in the dressing room. Good luck on that one.

I can think of many worse I'm afraid - he did alright in spells for Eastleigh too last season. Can't comment on the dressing room issue, but then we had our fair share of those sorts before relegation. His bust-up with Hill probably suggests he was a bad influence to be fair.

Am I the only one who actually rates Lincoln's business so far this season? Certainly fancy them to hit top half/top 10, especially in the unlikely event that they can get Hearn fit and firing.

Not saying he hasn't got a bit of an attitude because there's no smoke without fire, but in respect to that bust up, Hill is a complete cock all the time!

First "meh" re-signing for us, Theo Bailey-Jones has been given a deal. Good enough for the wider squad but wouldn't have him ahead of either Danny Rowe or Chris Holroyd out wide. No doubt will be cheap though.

So completing the Moke for TBJ swap. While TBJ didn't set the world alight, i'd probably prefer him to Moke.

Oh, Stanley will certainly keep you possession. He only knows how to pass backwards and across. I don't think the word forward registers in his brain tbh.

Craig Stanley is the most frustrating player I've ever watched, so many times I watched him last season and wondered what his role in the team actually was? He seems to just wander around, doesn't make tackles or help defensively but doesn't contribute going forward either (think he only scored 1 for us and that was a free kick which he was crossing).
He slows down attacks and will regularly pick up the ball, turn around and pass to a full back.

As I say, Power and Nolan will be the starting duo and he will be back-up.

It matters not, we're guaranteed to finish mid-table, not necessarily because of the players we have on the field of play.

Morecambe fans alway spoke well of Stanley, but sounds like last two clubs have not gone so well! Hopefully finds his best form for us... I'm starting hope that's the case with a few too many of our signings now in all honesty!

Power and Nolan would be too lightweight for me!

I think that's a good signing for you. Apart from when he first came into the side and looked rusty, he never let us down. I think League Two would have been a step too far for him, but he should continue to do well at this level.
