Aldershot (and Boreham Wood, apparently )
Benyu has been on trial with us throughout pre-season and has played for Aldershot at this level before. When Shots fans found out he was on trial, I did see some supporters of theirs were desperate to re-sign him. Hopefully he can perform to a similar standard with us.

Wow! The boy must have taken a wrong turn somewhere. We know that he was a permanent bench-warmer at Celtic, and was very short of matches.
I think he was 19 when he was at the Rec, oozing pure class and commitment. Hopefully a great signing for you, maybe kickstarting his career. Wish we had taken a punt on him.

3 great signings for the Stones today. Dyer was outstanding for us before heading off to play top flight football in Sweden. And with regards to Benyu, another National League club was in for him (rumoured to be Aldershot) but he's signed for the Stones and hopefully provides that creative spark in midfield.

Charlie Wakefield has been on trial with Harrogate this summer and seems to have done well judging by the comments from their manager in the press, but they didn't sign him. Described as lightening quick, his pace alongside the pace of Dennon Lewis, Jacob Mendy and Michee Efete will cause defenders problems.

Happy with the squad now..

Just seen that on our website, now that WAS a surprise. Can you shine any light on that Fyldefan?

It was a surprise to me as well. Thought we’d be starting the season with willoughby up top on his own. No idea if he’s any good. Just remember him on the Stockport programme, I mean Salford programme from a few years ago

He is good, 70 goals in 140 games I just read. I'm sure he'll do well, the kind of player you'd hate if he didn't play for your team.

I did worry he'd be getting sent off every other game in the top division - I recall last time we played in this division, the refs are a lot more card-happy than in NLN or NPL, and I can't imagine they'd tolerate his constant whining and berating of officials.

Oh well, I guess I won't find out now. It is quite gratifying that he didn't go to Chester at least...

Were fooked now, with two other strikers injured as well. Didnt see that coming. Jordan has been a big part of our success and we were all looking forward to seeing how NL defenders coped with him, or not as the case may be. Not going to know now. Fylde have got an extremely good player and an amazing character. We will miss him.

We’ve signed a 19 year old keeper. Harrison Davison-Hale. Seems to be our usual trick. Sign a young keeper on peanuts to sit on the bench and repeat.

Another one, maybe two to be announced by the sounds of it. Potentially in time for the game tommorow. That should be our squad complete after those 2.

Surprised at that, he was pretty well rated by Stags fans just a year or two back? Loves a red card tho as I recall

He was brilliant in his first season and dreadful in the second.

One thing I forgot to add in the L2 forum is he’s one of the quickest CB you’ll ever come across, he’s quite often the fastest player on the pitch. That can come in handy.

Former Newport County striker Ade Azeez and Macclesfield Town central defender Marvel Ekpiteta both arrive on permanent deals, while another central defender, Harry Ransom, arrives on loan from Championship side Millwall.

Dover Athletic Academy starlet, Will Moses, a centre half, completes the new arrivals.

We've announced the double signings of Gevaro Nepomuceno & Gold Omotayo. Any good? I remember Omotayo tearing us a new one at the shay and scoring a brace last season

Aldershot have signed our youngster Shadrach Ogie on loan - He's got alot of potential and can play LB or CB. Did well at Dover last season.

Gold was used as the scapegoat by our fans for any poor performance and the Halifax game aside, looked bereft of confidence as a result. Old-fashioned centre forward with shoulders wider than an albatross' wing span, he should be tailor-made for the division. Hope he does well for you, I think there's a decent player in there (and surely he'll benefit from fans not getting on his back early on too).

Thank god there’s no fans in then, because our lot love to scapegoat a striker. Generally rule is that if you’re not as good as Lee Gregory or Jamie Vardy then you’re shite and should be heckled accordingly.

Certainly looked a handful and if he can be a focal point to hold it up for our wing backs, second striker and No. 10 to get beyond, could work really well for us

He showed glimpses of good play. Few dodgy first touches but overall pretty solid. Looks like a direct replacement for Sho-Silva. Very similar build and style of player.

On another note, Bradbury was very good yesterday. Had a bit of a dodgy pre season but couldn’t fault him on that performance.

I liked Bradbury a lot. You could see his limitations a mile off, but given he was signed as an inexperienced back up to Collins and Wilkinson, I thought he'd easily done enough to warrant another season here.

Not our signing but Everton have just paid 25 million plus add ones for Ben Godfrey.
We are getting 10% and absolute massive for us.

Pleased for York.

You had some rotten luck last year with the stoppage fucking you over. Hope you come up this year.

We have signed Canadian winger Michael Petrasso on a season long loan. Notts County fans may remember him.

With the caveat that he only appears to have played about 30 games in five years, that could be a brilliant signing.

Failing to get his loan extended was one of the reasons we collapsed out of the League One promotion race at Christmas, lost about 20 games in a row and ended up getting relegated under Shaun Derry. He looked a top player for that level then and destined for bigger things.

Aye as Jacob says he was fantastic, lightning quick and bags of skill. Think he’s had a long term injury since then, so not sure if he’s still got it.

I take it he won’t be able to play for a couple of weeks, covid restrictions and that?

Yeah, I think he’ll be in quarantine with us for a fortnight first. He was training with us pre-season.

Don’t think anyone put it in here - we ripped up our Danish international Casper Sloth’s contract after zero appearances because he was fuming about not starting.

Dodged a bullet there I think.Bonus is we've got some budget to get a grafter in midfield.

Petrasso's career must have gone some way off track to end up in non league.
