Surely the strangest signing in non-league this window.

I feel like this is going to one way or the other, he'll either take the absolute piss out of this league on the regular OR he'll be a fat lazy fucker still dining out on his Championship career with Leeds, Fulham.

Exciting signing though either way.

He was all set to join Sutton, but Aldershot outbid us on wages

Surely means we’re officially GOING FOR IT then?Came completely out the blue for most of us, cracking signing on paper he’s definitely got the ability and gives our young squad some much needed experience, just wonder what his attitude will be like and whether he’ll be up for it against the tinpot sides like Halifax and Eastleigh.

its amazing how quickly some players drop down the leagues... Leroy Lita is another one that had a very drastic fall.

His attitude during his time at Motherwell and in Australia would suggest the latter.

He was on such ludicrous wages at Fulham and Villa that I'm amazed he's come back to pay at this level though.

At last, the natural order is returning. If this is true it makes a nice change from the likes of Boreham Wood and Bromley pinching our best players.

Not expecting miracles, but an exciting signing nonetheless.

Signing number two announced... Killian Colombie. Full back who’s been on trial with us all pre-season. Imagine he’ll probably be back up to Kinsella and Fowler. Know very little about him really.

Signed Adrian Clifton after his release by Bromley, back up to at least 4 in front of him, that’s us firmly done on strikers now.

Ancient journeyman striker Bas Savage comes out of retirement to sign for Isthmian League side South Park.
I remember him being rubbish for us on loan somewhere around 2012. Even Step 4 might be too high a standard of football for him now!

We had him on trial under Sanchez I think, who then decided he'd rather gamble on Charlie Taylor for the season.

Not sure which would have been worse tbh!

Charlie Taylor was definitely NLS standard at best.

It's very bizarre. He couldn't commit to an extra day training and apparently wanted to be closer to home so makes no sense him going to York. I presume you train 4 days a week too?

Ability wise though, you've probably got the best centre half in that league by a mile. He'll put his head on everything and loves a tackle. Cracking player and a great bloke too. You've got a good one there.

If York don't go up this time around, it's a disaster. Should absolutely walk the league with that squad.

Our pre season form has been awful.
Beat Newcastle U23 4-1
Lost 3-0 to South Shields
Lost 2-0 to Whitby
Drew 0-0 with Scarborough
Lost 1-0 to Stockport

a lot of goals conceded from set pieces and a lack of height in defence, probably why he has brought Brown in at 6ft 4

He’ll help in that department for sure. How often do you train? From the outside looking in, it looks dodgy from our perspective him going from one full time club to another because he couldn’t commit to the training. I suspect money may have persuaded him otherwise at a guess.

Last season it was 4 or 5 times a week depending on mid week games.

For what it’s worth, Bromley have re-signed Hackett-Fairchild on loan.

We've signed left back Ryan Burke on loan from Birmingham. Not that he'll have any games to play in probably.

So surprised people are still signing players, we were about to get rid of one Joan Luque but that’s now changed as the club he was going to Maidstone have withdrawn the contract. Our MD has issued a statement, £20m needed or the end could be near for many clubs or even the existence of the NL. We will be ready to stream home games.

That’s a good strong statement and should form the basis of a united National League statement after the meeting tomorrow.

We’ve just announced the signing of Neill Byrne. This one has been lined up for weeks so doesn’t seem too daft under the current circumstances. Any good Fylde/Gateshead fans?

We've signed Jake Beesley on a 3 year deal from Solihull.

Has previously spent time on loan to various clubs from Classless of 92, notably getting 21 in a season at Bradford PA.
