Harry Isted confirmed on loan from Luton until January.

He was with us for two months last season, including the early title decider at Havant. I think he’s a little short but an excellent sweeper keeper.

Maidenhead re-sign winger Sam Barratt from Southend.

Excellent transfer business this summer. On paper this is a mid-table squad that should do at least as well as we did in our first season at this level.

Ben Stephens has re-signed for us. Did OK in league two so should be half decent in NL.

No sign of Amar fucking off yet though.

Our latest signing is the promotion of another kid from the youth. Some young lad with no hair called Danny Whitaker or something. Can't see him making it to be honest.

Joking apart, he'll still be the best player in this division.

Are you serious?

Our two games against you are write-offs then. He murders us everytime.

He must be 59 years old now seriously.

James Horsefield signs one year deal.
Apparently Keates is still after one more.

With the standard of our signings on a reduced budget , I can only assume that this is related to the possible takeover and investment of 2 million. Plenty of rumours of very high profile investors, and the employment of a former premier league CEO.

Exciting times.

If the takeover doesn't happen not sure how we are going to pay all these players!

Wrexham knocking out 10pm signings, they already switched to EST time zone?

Or it could be the uncertainty causing clubs to cut their cloth a bit more modestly, meaning more "talent" in the marketplace. Also having a manager who knows a bit about this league, since he spent at least 43 years playing in it with us.

I'd be amazed if these contracts we're handing out haven't got some clauses in them meaning we only pay the full whack once fans are allowed back, or at least when their wallets are.

Without sounding like Gary Mills, nearly all of the signings have been "excellent" on paper. From what I saw of him last season, James Horsfield is a fantastic addition to the squad. I was gutted when he got injured. This is the calibre of player we should be looking at, given our existing financial standing. We're no Forest Green or Fleetwood or Stockport, but we've always been up in the higher echelons, budget-wise, due to our season ticket sales and rock-up attendances.

Sod's law we get taken over by some benevolent tycoon when we already have a team good enough to win the league anyway.

I agree, the quality of player we have brought in does not tally up with what we thought was going to be a real struggle.

Be good for both County and Wrexham to get promoted this year. Both clubs and sets of fans deserve it!

Boreham Wood sign Shaq Coulthirst
I think we'd have signed him had we had a bigger budget, he's been training with us all summer and scored for us twice. But we need a centre half more than anything.

He'd have only been backup though.

His injury record probably put you guys off as well.

Ross McCormack signs for the shots. Was going to retire apparently, but couldn't resist scoring in front of a socially distanced east bank.

Surely the strangest signing in non-league this window.
