Bromley have signed former Yeovil and Millwall defender Byron Webster.

Wow, didn't expect that. He was brilliant for us and partnered Dan Burn in the centre of defence when we got promoted to the Championship. Their careers have taken rather different turns since.

He is 33 now, so age clearly a factor in dropping to this league.

I've got Radio Cumbria on my Twitter feed, and Carlisle fans seemed to think he was the worst player every week...

Yet he was offered a new contract and turned it down feeling he could do better.

To be fair he improved massively once Chris Beech came in and he was partnered with Aaron Hayden in the middle of a back four. When he left it sounded like he expected to sign for a more ambitious L2 team.

Barnet sign centre back Ben Nugent after his release by Stevenage.

For our sake I hope he was better than his team mates last season.

We've promoted left back Rocco Fregapane from our academy to the first team squad and will sign his first professional contract on his 18th birthday, whenever that is.

By all accounts he is a pretty decent looking prospect so makes sense. Tyler James, a free scoring #9 in the academy has gone on trial at Huddersfield, ideally we can get him tied up too if he ends up back with us.

Marvel Ekpiteta has returned to Newport to sign for a National League club. Shame, was decent last season and was looking forward to seeing what he could do with a full season here.

We’ve signed Sam Graham on loan from Sheffield United again. We had him last season until he got a season ending injury and he was very good, so delighted with this.

Does mean that we have four ridiculous centre back options when Lacey and Turner are fit, though, so not sure who will miss out.

Sam Walker (ex county, salford et al) latest signing.

Lump on us for relegation even if we survive the winding up order tomorrow. I dread to think how small our budget is.

I think you'll be down there but Flowers will have you fighting, brawling, shithousing and doing everything other than playing football in order to scrap 3 points every week. I think there's a good shout he keeps you up.

I'd put Turner bottom of that pack. Graham was getting better by the week until his injury.

Sam was a huge part of our promotion-winning side two seasons ago, he's a decent enough midfielder at this level, just not good enough for a side aiming for promotion. Will do a good job for the Milkies

Surprised Turnbull dropped down to Curzon, I thought he'd rejoin your lot

Walker will be sound for you I reckon, solid midfield player, great left foot for set pieces etc. Very well liked player and person at County

Was one of the main reasons we looked a bit more solid at the back before the season ended. We were starting to put together a decent run of form and ended with two 1-0 wins at Hartlepool and Halifax respectively.

Was surprised we'd managed to get him back on a season long loan to be honest. Definitely too good for the South IMO.

To be fair I've actually played a couple of games alongside Sam in some pre season friendlies many years ago (he was just getting some game time) and he is a decent lad.

You'll not have any criticisms of Sam Walker. He will work hard and get stuck in every game. The type of midfield player who is always looking to get on the ball has a good range of passing.

His set pieces will make you dangerous as corners and free kicks are pretty much on the money every time. A solid NL player in my opinion and a very likeable lad too.

Seemed a nice enough lad and clearly had quality on the ball, when we had him, but he was always blowing out of his arse after 45 minutes.

Just not enough of a “natural athlete” and from what we saw at Conf North, not really good enough at this level. Clearly showed a bit more for you guys though

Maidenhead sign British Virgin Islands centre back Jerry "JJ" Wiltshire, who has been playing in the American lower leagues.

Torquay have signed striker Josh Umerah, what's he like Ebbsfleet fans? Can remember him scoring a couple of goals against us last season.

Didn't look great for us at all last season, got to be honest. Looked a little lost more often than not, but we were shit in general so hard to single him out really.

We’ve signed attacking midfielder Eliot Richards, formerly of Merthyr, Hereford, Bristol Rovers, Cheltenham Town, Exeter City and Tranmère Rovers.

We’ve signed an 18 year old striker from Mansfield called Jimmy Knowles on loan for the season.

First signing of our for ages that I just don’t understand. Not sure who it’s benefiting, he’s going to struggle to even get on the bench unless he’s an outstanding 18 year old, in which case what are they doing loaning him out?

Also hasn’t gone down particularly well because Ardley has a terrible track record at giving opportunities to our own youngsters...

We’ve signed young Mansfield striker Jimmy Knowles on loan. Bit of a weird one as apparently he requested a move, but I can’t see him being any other than 4th choice behind Wootton, Sam and Wes Thomas

I dunno how good he is, suppose we are hoping to find out. We are stacked with strikers currently.

From what I’ve seen (not much) he looks to be a tidy player with plenty to learn, hence a move to non-league. Look after him!

hope from the bottom of my heart it works out for him and Notts, one of my school mates is uncle and he’s always wanted to do well in football.

I like Jimmy a lot and I think he’ll do a cracking job, and think GC will be doing it to text his mentality as a player as much as we’re pretty good on the forward front just now.
