Will he get much game time for you guys as reserve keeper? Mellon didn’t rate him, so whenever Scott Davies got injured, he loaned another keeper rather than give Luke match time. Hope it works out with you, but hard-pressed to say if he’s any good or not, having only seen him in friendlies.

Unlikely if Slocombe is fit, he’s about as good as it gets for a ‘keeper at this level. Ardley basically said he’s been signed because we want to be able to send our very highly rated 18 year-old youth teamer out on loan again.

That said, Slocombe did miss two or three months with injury last season, so he may end up getting a chance.

Decent signing as a back up keeper for one of the better VNL clubs. Really good distribution of the ball. Disadvantage is his height, only 5’11”.

The only "signing" that matters though is a new majority shareholder. So many fans are going to get blinded by actual football related stuff when all that matters is getting that crook out of the club.

They're probably feeling 6ft 6 right now, just signed for a new club, all is great.

Give it a month and they'll feel a pale imitation of themselves as our owner drives them into depression via lack of salary.

Carvalho just looks a standard non league winger, fast and dangerous at the low level he plays at but probably not good enough for National League. Looks like Nolan has been around this level for a while (and won L2 with Accie), but sounds like more of a Flowers player.

Also just signed Chay Tilt, yep him.

Nolan is very meh. One of them midfielders who's not bad if you are playing defensive-minded or to bring off the bench if you are holding on to a lead. Gets stuck in and does the basics but it's a lot of backwards and sideways passing.

Not really the sort of midfielder you'd want in an attacking-minded team. Doesn't really play a defence-splitting pass or get forward much. I thought he'd end up at a low end national league team or conf north.

We've added a third striker, Greg Cundle. Has been on trial for the three games thus far and looked half decent. Not a great scoring record other than two loan spells at East Grinstead Town while coming through at Gillingham.

Upto 21 now, which is probably where it ends, but I still think we're a bit short at right back.

When he signed he couldn’t play for us for nearly a year due to visa issues. At that point we could’ve got rid but we kept him because we obviously saw something in him and by all accounts he did well in our youth team. He went out on loan to Boston, did well and got himself in and around the squad but just didn’t impress me whatsoever.

He’s quick but his hamstrings seem like they’re knackered already, he’s not particularly great on the ball and he’s easily out muscled.

However, there has to be something there with him, we wouldn’t have put in all that effort otherwise and he did well in 3 games at Boston. Although if he’s your ‘new number 9’ I’d suggest that’s slightly concerning.

Hope he does well, he seems like a nice lad.
