He has, started promisingly but has struggled a bit recently. That may be at least partly due to how badly the whole team are doing.
Have you been playing him at RB or CM?

He'll not get a new deal here so he'll either be out on loan again after his spell there ends or leaves permanently.

We’ve signed Jermaine Anderson, played a few games in the EFL with Peterborough and Bradford, came on yesterday for the last 20 and generally looked tidy.
We’ve also announced that our keeper Brad James is staying until the end of the season - good bit of business by the club, he’s been brilliant so far.

Medical completed for Joel Taylor transfer from Chester...

Announcment due tomorrow, be interesting to see if he’s named in the squad for Sutton (A).

Great signing by all accounts. Will give us that much needed energy and attacking intent down the left hand side similar to what we have on the right with Cropper.

Question marks around what this now means for Tyler Denton who’s now going to be 3rd choice left back on what I’d imagine will be a decent wage! Assume he’ll be offloaded ASAP

Signed Salford striker Luke Armstrong who scored 11 in 17 for Gateshead here two year ago.

Said on the match day thread the caliber of striker we get in is all we need to know about how the season will pan out.

He has some sort of record which puts him above what we already have, not a statement of intent but could be worse I suppose, in the relentlessly grim life of a Poolie fan.

Pretty happy with it, but I suppose it's how we utilise him, we can't just isolate him upfront on his own, get him a partner or some bodies around him and get some goals out of him.

Confirmed.

Midfielder George Carline joins from Gloucester. Cheekily got round the clause inserted in the Asante deal regarding not being able to sign any of there contracted players after Carline mutually terminated his contract with them a few days ago.

Never seen the lad play but from what I’ve heard he’s a big threat on set pieces with his heading ability and also has a monster throw.. Big tom Denton will be buzzing!

Expect us to be moving on some of our contracted midfielders in the coming days/weeks following this news (Smith, Rowley, Butterfield etc..)

Another shrewd addition by all accounts. Like what Rowe has said and done so far, let's hope he gets the results to back it up.

So basically you have got two players from different teams to say they are not going to play again Q

you can call it cheeky but most will see it as dishonest getting two players to tell their clubs that they will no longer play for them so they would get their contracts cancelled and you can then sign them on free transfers, glad we didn’t fall for your little con trick and Insisted on a fee for our player. You are going to get yourselves a bit of a reputation if you carry on doing your transfer dealings in this way.

Some very odd comments being made on this board regarding our transfer dealings.

We haven’t forced anyone to do anything. Carline and Taylor clearly wanted to join us and they have forced the moves through in the way they and their agents clearly saw fit... how is that our problem?

The Gloucester board came out and actually made a comment regarding how professional our board had acted at all times in pursuing JR and Asante so this ‘Bad reputation’ you speak of is a complete myth.

I think that was more a case of moving on and keeping the club in a positive, professional light. Theres a difference between Chesterfield, i.e. the directors and their professionalism which isn't in question and then those two you mention.

Damn this board and it’s anti Chesterfield bias. Yeah complete coincidence that they both refused to train with their clubs - this definitely happens loads of times throughout the season.

I’m sure when a club wants your players but doesn’t actually have the money required to buy them so they basically go on strike after being tapped up you’ll be totally fine with it.

No I probably wouldn’t be fine with it because that’s the nature of a football fan, however we’ve been on the receiving end of these types of transfers plenty of times in the past.... it’s football, wouldn’t take it personal!

I agree with you, my point was to stop pretending you hadn’t been underhand when clearly you had.

Anyway 25k so not a bad fee for Chester at all.

So after all that, everyone's happy anyway?

As you say, good deal for all parties. Chester get a decent fee for a want-a-way player, and we get a highly rated player in return and he goes straight into the starting line up tonight!

Good luck for the rest of the season.

Well, we’re going to find out what kind of standard the Conference North is with Chesterfield at least.

If he's one tenth the player his dad was then he'll be a star for you

Alfreton have signed striker Luke Rawson on loan from Chesterfield for a month. Whats he like Spiretes?
Works hard but lacks any sort of real pace.. Started bright for us but tailed off and hopefully a loan will be good for him.

Scored for fun in our youth team so defo a player in there somewhere

3 players have departed in the last couple of days..

Milan Butterfield has joined Guiseley on loan for a month, alongside Luke Rawson who has joined alfreton for same period of time.

Alex Kiwomya has been released from his contract. Talented player, but seemed like he had a poor attitude from his social media outbursts.

Liam Gordon back in in loan after leaving for Bolton in the summer, will suit McMahon’s wing back system much better than Elliot Johnson.

If you're playing 3 at the back then Johnson is pretty effective at LCB.

Not quite got the pace for LWB although he is a decent crosser.

He started off slow as they all did but has got slowly better, not a spectacular player but decent enough. Won’t get in the team now with Gordon about and definitely if we’re playing wing backs.

We potted our dof Toby Phoenix this week. Evatt job title changed from Head coach to Manager
Think Gordon may have been one of Phoenix signings. The loan is for a month but i cannot see him returning North anytime soon
