Haha if Wrexham ever complain about Fleetwood buying the league that season then they can fuck off.

Great signing as long as they don’t play him up front on his own, we put Ironside up with him and he benefitted massively from someone else going up for the headers and doing the donkey work. Lest we forget, however, that don’t play him properly and you’ve signed a player who was 1 in 5 before we figured out how to play him.

I’d like to wish him well with his career but let’s face it he’s cashing in on last season. He could have joined a good League 1 side or even a Championship side to capitalise on the form he was in last season but instead he’s going to be up against the might of Dover and so on. Gotta say I’m disappointed in him.

Sounds like Wrexham need to bring back that massive Gold lad they had last season.

There’s been some crazy signings in this league over the years but that’s right up there. Great signing.

Horrendously unambitious from him mind

I’m not so sure really, he’s 26, always only ever been pretty average, even he probably can’t believe what happened last season, might fear it won’t happen again - if Wrexham are offering him a 3 year deal at 3k a week plus he’s going to take it, I’m not sure it’s unambitious

A player on his way up moving from League 1 to Non League is absolutely unambitious

Fair play, now need 21 decent players to go with it.

I mean, we'd have offered him a minimum of a 3 year deal at £3k per week, I'm suspecting more since the club said they offered him the best deal we'd ever offered anyone. The location helps no doubt as he was keen to move back to the north west (and I imagine his wife was keen to get him away from who he was living with.....) but any league one club in the north west would have taken a punt on him for way more than we offered since he was free.

If he can carry on his form from last season then that's an unreal signing for Wrexham. Jake Hyde and Paul Mullin should be a good strike partnership in this league next season.

Maybe even more potent than Madden & Quigley!

I like the line about Rob McElheney ringing to convince him. I wonder if Shaun Brisley got the same treatment.

Money will definitely play a part, it dominates everything nowadays, but I don’t think you can say it’s only money, I think it’s the whole situation, Hollywood owners, documentary being filmed, players will find it attractive to jump on the journey because you’ll get noticed more. Not to mention that the potential of this club is huge

I agree, I can't not agree. Especially knowing how hard it is to get out of Non League even with quality players.

This is our money finally talking, we'd done nothing up to this point to suggest we even had any. He is from Liverpool originally so that might have played a role in it. But mainly, it's money.

I liked him, he won everything aerially, just very raw. Thought he would’ve been decent backup but he would stick out like a sore thumb replacing either Hyde or Mullin on the pitch now

But not as potent as McCallum and Balanta

All jokes aside there are some serious contenders next season but someone like Sutton who spent a fiver will blow everyone out the park.

I mean he obviously couldn’t shoot, but the man caused some degree of chaos against us. Has he gone anywhere?

I have to admit I didn't think we'd be making this kind of signing. Shows what I know!

Watch him score 3 goals all season now.

I see our fans talking about 4-3-3 as what they want but I don’t think they know who we’ve signed, both Mullin and Hyde are central strikers, you need to create a partnership, 4-3-3 would be a waste

If Wrexham don't win this division, they could end up being the biggest laughing stock in world football. That is the pressure that is now on this clubs shoulders.

He's definitely going to be another Ormerod, Boden, Bishop etc. We ruin strikers, it's all we ever do.

Plus isn't he a midget? NL is no place for him.

Going for your title from last season then.
