They’ve signed some good players IMO, think they’ll be quite good.
I try to avoid all activity involving that owner. I don’t know if you can call them dark horses, but mine would be Daggers or maybe someone like Solihull

Not dark horses to win it by any means, but to do better than anyone expects.

Golds gone to Kings Lynne. Poor sod
Oi, just because you have signed a 'goal machine' there is no need for that, those of us without Hollywood connections have to work with the owners we have (it could have been you). Also for those that care, Gold got four in a midweek friendly (last minute opposition after scheduled game vs Bishop Stortford called off)

Fair play to him. It was a fair old spot from Keates in January when our season was on the floor after losing Kwame and Ponticelli in the space of a few days. He looked like a punt who probably would never play (like Chris Sang), but he made an instant impact

My dislike of Kings Lynne is 100% down to your slimy Vampiric owner. Otherwise I wish you well.

Gold seemed a good guy. He's limited as a footballer but if you play to his strengths he could be a real asset. Came in and did a good job for us.

If Wrexham don't win this division, they could end up being the biggest laughing stock in world football. That is the pressure that is now on this clubs shoulders.
I'm hearing the bookies have re-opened the market on the title betting.

Unless we sign a commanding centre back and a replacement for Khan I really can’t see us bothering top spot. Realistic chance of play offs at most.

Happy with that signing. Dubious goal record before last year but if he scores half as many as last season. I will be happy. Him and Hyde should be a pretty strong strike partnership. Still need a few midfielders to make the chances for them though or it's a waste of time.
Until then I still consider Stockport strong favourites

I see our fans talking about 4-3-3 as what they want but I don’t think they know who we’ve signed, both Mullin and Hyde are central strikers, you need to create a partnership, 4-3-3 would be a waste

Who would play wide? I don't recall you having many if any wingers other than Marsh Brown.

I don’t agree that it will be a waste of time as look how many Kwame scored and Ponch near the end, the chances were there for them and Mullin is a better finisher than both. But I do agree some better quality in midfield would be nice. I’m more interested in a proper CDM, someone who puts their foot on the ball and controls the game

Statement of intent by Wrexham, no doubt.

Just hope he provides as if he has a poor first season your lumbered for an extra two years with a player with a huge contract. On paper it's an absolutely brilliant signing, but we all know that leagues aren't won on paper.

Imagine the £££ that must have been offered to him to make him choose non league football over a potential Championship move…

Jealous moi? - well yes I am. Like you say everything happened for him last season but before then he was just OK, obviously we'll be hoping he's a one season wonder but if not he will be massive for you.

A player on his way up moving from League 1 to Non League is absolutely unambitious

Not massively, depends what has been sold to him. It’s not like he’s gone to Solihull or Boreham Wood or Fylde. I imagine he thinks there is a good chance Wrexham will be back in the league within his three years. If he can earn £150k a year+ in that time I don’t think it’s particularly unambitious.

Angus and Mcalinden I’m guessing

4-2-4!

We tried that the season we had Ferrier, Whitely, Fejiri and Cheek. Fun, but expect ridiculous scorelines, zero defending and no promotion.

Is the money scandalous? Yes
Has Harvey Weinstein possibly helped part fund this? Yes. Well probabaly. Possibly.

But don't take anything away from Wrexham.

I want to win promotion and lift the trophy but I don't want to actually have to go up. League Two is a proper sauceless division these days. Vanarama is where it's at. None of us want to actually end up on channel Quest on a Saturday Night. Not when you've got BT Sport. I bet you can't even wear a Vanarama jacket up there either.

We’re throwing peanuts about compared to the big spending Wrexham and Stockports of this league… if only we could compete !!!:dk:

Would be a great underdog story if we actually go on and achieve anything this year all things considered!!!

Haha, bring it on. No I think Angus may find himself on the bench now and a good option to call on too. Mcalinden I know can play behind the striker/s so maybe PP sees him as a CAM. I have no idea what formation we’re going to play though

People say he's unambitious. Is he fuck.

With a serious hat on here, I'd rather play for Wrexham, Stockport, Notts down here if that was my best money offer. Proper clubs. I wouldn't give a fuck about League One at all, the only reason people would rather play there than NL is because 99% of the time that leagues team would pay more money.

Just looking at League One, Accrington, Morecambe and Fleetwood and that's just the shit ones I've pulled from the North West. Pub league, just like this one.

Reese Hall Johnson and Cameron Green as Wing backs would be my guess. Possibly MacAlinden. Dior Angus could play wide but personally I'd rather see him partner Mullin because of his exceptional work rate.
