Bodens gone but the rest are on the books. Rowe will be on a respectable wage, but not 'massive'. Can't imagine the rest are on anything to shout about. We did have a little bit of wiggle room after having a good clear out though.
Payne seems like someone who thinks he’s too good for this level and would require a hefty wage.

I'm not sure how much competition we had for his signature after he nutted his teammate and hardly played all year. He's what I'd call a reclamation project

I recall Eoin Doyle having a fight with Jermaine Beckford, didn’t do him too much harm. I take your point about lack of playing though. I still feel like he’s someone who lives in his own world and expects a big wage though, I don’t know why

Surely you wouldn’t be having Lennon as a starting CB? Not if you’re looking for promotion anyway?
I'm not sure Brisley is up to it any more either. He was very slow for us three seasons ago. I really wouldn't want him back.
having said that, Wrexham should be right up there with more signings to come.

Paul Mullin was allowed to go on loan to Cambridge by Tranmere Rovers because he was behind Morgan Ferrier and Stefan Payne in the pecking order and was then even further behind when we signed James Vaughan and Andy Cook on loan. Let that sink in.

Tranmere bought Gary Bennett off us and stuck him out wide. They don't know what they are doing.

It sounds like more of a failure on Tranmere's part that he then left and scored 32 goals the following season in League Two.

People say he's unambitious. Is he fuck.

With a serious hat on here, I'd rather play for Wrexham, Stockport, Notts down here if that was my best money offer. Proper clubs. I wouldn't give a fuck about League One at all, the only reason people would rather play there than NL is because 99% of the time that leagues team would pay more money.

Just looking at League One, Accrington, Morecambe and Fleetwood and that's just the shit ones I've pulled from the North West. Pub league, just like this one.
Preach Brother. We’ve got him here due to money, no doubt. But I’ve always said Proper Clubs can spend what they want to get back to where they belong historically. It’s the tinpot shite distorting the market that is the problem.

Not at all. He had two seasons and wasn't good enough. He couldn't displace James Norwood who had never played an EFL game before and once Norwood went to Ipswich he wasn't able to replace him. We let him go for free because he was never going to be the answer. Look at Charlie Wyke at Sunderland. Never scored close to 20 goals a season until he had Aiden McGeady supplying crosses for him and gets 30+ goals. Sometimes its about being in the right place at the right time.

Money will definitely play a part, it dominates everything nowadays, but I don’t think you can say it’s only money, I think it’s the whole situation, Hollywood owners, documentary being filmed, players will find it attractive to jump on the journey because you’ll get noticed more. Not to mention that the potential of this club is huge
Hahahaha he’s 34 mate don’t think he gives a flying fuck about your potential. Stop kidding yourself you’re paying top money for 3 years and this is the sole reason he signed

We’ve signed Will Fish on loan from Man Utd for the season. Captained their u23s often last year and made his PL debut on the last day.

Our defensive options are pretty ridiculous - wish I could say the same about our midfield but there is still time.

Notts County have the most proven Football League players in their squad by a good distance. I bet they take a decent wage. You've had to scale down and not up so it looks like you're not spending as much. It wouldn't surprise me if across the whole board you still actually had the biggest wage bill. We've still got 5-6 who were part time with us.
No way do we have the biggest budget this season now that the parachute payments are gone. We're certainly competitive and I'm not complaining but if budget alone takes you up then Stockport and Wrexham, probably Grimsby and maybe Southend and Chesterfield finish above us.

We've signed Centre Half Will Fish on season long loan from Man United. He's captained them at every youth level and seemingly highly rated.

Sounds like the back 3 is back on unless the Barclay deal has gone tits up.

Lol pissed. Anyway point still stand Paul Mullin was not deliberating the potential of clubs he signed for. It’s money and for how long and if you truly believe otherwise you’re a fool

Charlie Wyke has had a half decent career at a few clubs and come close to 20 goals. He doesn’t look like someone who is League One standard, but Sunderland played to his strengths (heading) and he delivered

No need for that statement really.
I didn't start it. I am simply pointing out that unless you provide the right back up for him you will not get a season like last year. What you will get are some real stunning goals because he has that in his armoury.

Have Wrexham made any other stand out signings?

We did a similar thing in signing Maynard after his promotion with Bury, unfortunately we didn’t sign anybody to actually help him score though.

He scored 13 more goals than anyone else in the league above last season. I think you know what his strengths are.

Convinced you're on the wind-up though.

I think I mentioned that money played a huge part because that’s football. I just mentioned that what we’re doing will also be attractive to some and when someone like Rob McElhenney personally calls you waxing lyrical, it will put you on cloud nine

Some real salt on here tonight. Wow.

Stockport, is this what its like?
Yeah. Some boiled piss on here when we signed Quigley. Best thing to do is just drink it in. The boiled piss tastes quite nice once you've become accustomed to it.

We don't need to sign anyone as Jordan Davies is the best centre attacking midfielder to ever grace this division.

2022-23 is going to be just as difficult to get promotion than 2021-22 for most of your teams
