Have Wrexham made any other stand out signings?

We did a similar thing in signing Maynard after his promotion with Bury, unfortunately we didn’t sign anybody to actually help him score though.

We definitely need a couple of midfield signings, but we do have Jordan Davies and Luke Young who are decent at this level. Davies could well develop into something a lot better than decent as well. We have some good wing backs as well. He also has Jake Hyde, MacAlinden and Dior Angus to take some of the pressure of scoring off him.

Still a lot of strengthening to do in the next week or so. We have the means to do it though.

Just seen some of Mullin's goals for Cambridge. Some quality finishes there. You can either do it or you can't.

Nobody is a guaranteed success. There are lots of factors in football. But nobody with a straight face question the quality of the signing.

Will be interesting to see how Redmond shows up too, he really needs a chance this season and if he’s not good enough, send him out on loan. He looked good for Salford, so it’s weird he hasn’t had more of a chance so far

I think I mentioned that money played a huge part because that’s football. I just mentioned that what we’re doing will also be attractive to some and when someone like Rob McElhenney personally calls you waxing lyrical, it will put you on cloud nine
Yeah it probably would then it would swiftly be followed by so what you paying?

Its a good signing for the NL without doubt but one season scoring 32 goals does not remove 6 seasons scoring an average of 6 from his record. He also scored a lot of penalties last season.

He scored 13 more goals than anyone else in the league above last season. I think you know what his strengths are.

Convinced you're on the wind-up though.
I honestly do not because he was overshadowed by Norwood in his first season and did not impress in his second. Morecambe fans could give you a better summary than us. Go on to the League 1 forum and ask The Globule ( real user name)

Yeah. Some boiled piss on here when we signed Quigley. Best thing to do is just drink it in. The boiled piss tastes quite nice once you've become accustomed to it.
Fosters lager.

Over the previous 6 seasons his average goal return is 8.6. Not brilliant but better than 6.

As you said yourself its whether or not he gets the required service. I trust that the manager we have knows this.

Oh I think you know and probably curse your club every day for letting him go ;) Looks pretty all round to me, no complaints
Not one TRFC supporter with any knowledge of football was bothered about it. We actually liked him a lot because he works his arse off every minute he is on the pitch and never hides. We were more bothered about the fact that we didnt have enough like him in work ethic at the end of last season. James Vaughan was right alongside him in goals scored until he got injured.

I notice he retired at the end of the season, was the injury that bad? Very good player.

41 league goals in 6 seasons is actually closer to 7 but i rounded it down.

He was close to retiring in 2020 but decided to give it another go when we approached him. He had scored 19 league goals by early March but barely played after that and said his body couldn't cope with it any longer. I honestly hope Paul Mullin does well for you because as i said he is a real workhorse and will never hide in games. He will score some proper stunning goals. Its his thing.

Well we can certainly both agree with that. Useless lump.
I was genuinely shocked when I watched the semi vs Tranmere and saw that their starting striker was him. He’s one of the worst I’ve seen down here that we’ve had.. and now he’s in league one (I think.. unless he’s been let go)

We've signed Centre Half Will Fish on season long loan from Man United. He's captained them at every youth level and seemingly highly rated.

Sounds like the back 3 is back on unless the Barclay deal has gone tits up.
We’re not playing with three right-footed CBs in a back three.

He started his career at Tranmere and for his size came across as weak. He should wear a mask when he plays because he has been stealing a living for years.

Fish looks like a potentially very good signing for Stockport, but also a bit of an odd one considering the centre back options they’ve already got and Barclay coming in. I’d bet he’s got one of those clauses saying he’s got to play a certain amount.

Yep we have four right-footed CBs that I’d be more than happy with as first-choice for a side looking to win the league.

Whereas as Rooney aside (and even he’s been crap in league games against the best side) our midfield options are very meh.

The European champions Chelsea played with three right footed centre halves. England reached a European Championship with it (after Maguire came in for Mings)

I understand why the preference for a left footed player as a LCB however in my experience that is a fault of the player if they can't play on the opposite side. It's all down to body position and the passing lanes a player can create. The foot preferance becomes more important depending on the quality (or lack of) body position in receiving the ball. Maybe most lower league players can only play the way they're facing but I'd imagine Fish and Barclay are technically very well coached both coming from top level academies and the fact they are at an age where passing out from the back is a necessity for modern defenders.
