Good signing for Arsenal but the best bit of business they'll do all window is to keep hold of Sanchez.

Close to signing Matheus Jorgensen too, CB from Copenhagen, sounds to be another great signing.

Really chuffed with these signings, improving our squad massively. We've spent over £40m! I've always said we'll give it a damn good go but didn't expect that amount of money spent.

Your squad is shaping up real good but you must be expanding your wage bill heavily surely? I mean all of your signings so far should end up at the very top of your wage bill and you haven't really sold any major earners unless I'm mistaken? The PL money is great and all but it's worth remembering it's just that, for the Premier League. You should be well in the top five for the spending league this season and you're newcomers!

That said I think you'll stay up, I think you have a good mix that should see you both grind out the necessary 0-0's (you get one at Anfield as a welcome bonus which is tradition) and win enough nailbiters against other relegation candidates.

Lacazette will be good for Arsenal. I predict 18 league goals.

AnkleBiter : You are now in the Premier League...you can spend like crazy and shitting money;).
I don't know this Jorgensen guy but with a first name of Matheus which sounds a bit like (Lothar) Matthäus he must be powerful and a future success. :D
Anyway I'll keep my fingers crossed this season that Huddersfield (and especially David Wagner) will have a successful season. And I am looking forward to both matches against Jürgen Klopp's LIverpool.

Burnley have bolstered their defensive options by bringing in left back Charlie Taylor on a four-year deal from Leeds United. Decent signing?

So Iborra is done. 12mill fee. Hopefully more Cambiasso than Inler.

He's quality. Who will he likely partner in the middle? Was going to say he's very defensive but apparently got 7 goals in La Liga last season! Bloody hell, not bad for a sitter. But you want someone mobile next to him imo.

That's really the only fear with him, we're a fast moving side from the mid to the front, and he's like a slug. A slug who can play well but still.
I don't think he'll replace anyone just yet. Our depth is tragic, especially centrally. Might even go 3 man mid. He gives us flexibility because he's such a versatile player.

He's more box to box than defensive mid. N'Zonzi was more of the DM of those two.

Mathias 'Zanka' Jorgensen signed from Copenhagen - CB.

I think that might be us setup now unless someone too good to miss turns up.

Can't wait to get going now!

Not a transfer, but Trent Alexander-Arnold has signed a long-term deal with Liverpool. Think he'll get a lot more games this term and he looks full of potential.

Same for Callum Slattery with us tonight.

Follows Gallagher and Stephens last week, who have both broken into the first team previously, but according to watchers of our youth team Slattery is the one to look out for.

Yes, I'd say so. Leeds fans seem to have it in for him but I don't think his talent/ability is in question. Loves to bomb forward with boundless energy from the times I've seen him, expect he'll prove an upgrade on Stephen Ward ultimately.

Bar Woodburn with whom it's too early to tell TAA is the only one of our youngsters that I rate. I rarely get excited because it takes so, so much to make it all the way but if anyone has the talent for it, it's him. Only problem is that he's behind Clyne who doesn't really get injured nor underperform. TAA can play centrally though but I have never seen him there so don't know how he is.

A few academy players seem to be jumping ship from Arsenal before Wenger let's Mertesacker take over. Chris Willock also left the club and the country, and signed for Benfica. A lot more players seem to be open to moving abroad this season, maybe they're finally getting the message that the chances aren't there for them in the Premier League.

Yeah I think he'll be developed more for a central position in the next year or two, but in the meantime stick to being backup to Clyne. I think Grujic will kick on if given the chance, and Woodburn does look good along with TAA. Interesting to see what happens with Ojo as he's got talent, but has clearly slipped down the pecking order after injuries, but hoping he has a good preseason. Harry Wilson has been scoring all the goals for the unders and is captain there too, and a lot are wondering why he's never been given a chance; I've never seen him play I don't think so can't comment, but am really interested to see him play.

I don't think Ojo suits Klopp. He should leave Liverpool.

Surprised by that, if we'd re-signed him on loan for the season I'd have been disappointed, can't believe they've paid £2m for him, genuinely didn't look good enough for League Two. He had a good record at youth level though so maybe there's more to him than we saw.

Yeah it may come to that. With Salah being brought in thats even less chance of him getting on the wing as Salah and Mane can play either side, Coutinho plays mainly there too on the left and even Sturridge and Firmino (to varying degrees of success) can play there as well. He's going to struggle for game time, but if Liverpool get into the group stages of the CL, then I can see Ojo being used in the domestic cup games when the fixtures start piling up, unless Oxlade-Chamberlain is also brought in, which is a possibility. Also Ings may finally get his injuries hopefully behind him, and can play wide too.

You mean they can both theoretically be put there on the teamsheet?

Firmino on a flank was a sure way of shutting that flank down completely. I don't know the stats or if they even exist but I'd be surprised if we had a single assist from the wing he was playing on at any point during the season, which was 5-6 games or so at the very least.

Which is why I said to varying degrees of success. I don't think we'll see much more of him there now, but he has played there which was my point.
