I know it'll go down like a pint of cold sick on here, but there are a few records on the table for City this season. Looking at them, it's pretty much all records held by Chelsea, for some reason.

City equaled the record for the most wins in a season (they can add it to their joint-record of most draws in a season from 1993/4) and the most away wins in a season yesterday with 30 (Chelsea last season) and 15 (Chelsea in 2004/5) respectively.

They are one goal away from matching the record for goals scored in a season (103, Chelsea 2009/10), and currently five better than the best ever goal difference (record is currently 71, also Chelsea 2009/10)

Two points from matching, or one win from beating from the highest ever points total. Chelsea again. 95 in 2004/5

And finally, a non Chelsea one. United hold the record for the biggest ever winning margin (which they could add to their existing record of the smallest ever winning margin from 2011/12) - 18. Currently a 16 point gap.

Fastest PL club to 100 goals, first PL team to score more than 100 goals twice. and a joint record with having four players on 10+ goals for the season (with David Silva currently on nine). No idea who else is on that list, but it was mentioned in the build-up yesterday, and although the rules changed recently, Phil Foden will become the youngest player ever to win a PL medal with one more appearance...

A rather meaningless graphon it’s own as it also takes in a period of time where transfer fees have increased in general. I found an old article from 10 years ago where there were pearls being clutched at the ridiculous squad values. Chelsea’s was the highest about £220m and City’s was 160m. For the squad. Pogba abd Lukaku cost more than that!

Because everyone has spent more. You can’t say that City’s achievements this season are null and void because ‘money’ while ignoring that the entire division has more money than ever before.

City have spent more than anyone else, but they’ve got a fucking good return on that investment.
