Yeah, it was for the masses wasn't it? Give everyone something to talk about and feel all warm and fuzzy inside about. The way that some people were seemingly noting that Viv and John at number 15 weren't out doing the clap was ridiculous too. I gave up after the second week when we had a note come through our door asking us to take the knee on a different day every wek in support of BLM. Not that I don't support BLM, but I had to draw the line. Once I started to question if my neighbours would think I was racist for not doing that I knew it was time to step away from all of it.Clapping on doorsteps was one of the most bizarre points of the entire pandemic. Underfund the NHS, pay those putting their lives on the line peanuts and then stand on your doorstep and clap once a week. Bizarre. It’s like telling someone they’re doing a really good job when you’ve helped put them in the mess they’re in.
