We still think this may go ahead.

So you've pulled out at a day's notice but might still play a game in 4 days time?

This makes no sense, are you scrabbling around for a Duffus replacement before Tuesday?

I also notice you have pulled out due to "concerns" about the virus. No mention of positive tests.

Nothing to do with Duffus, we signed Reuben Reid a couple of weeks ago. Got Murphy and Dagnall as well.

Are we not just being responsible? I’m guessing someone has reported symptoms without a test taking place yet. If somebody has a cough you can’t take any chances. Which is why the season won’t finish.

Just cancel the season now. 2 league games in 8 weeks (in two separate spells)
Getting bored of this farce now.
It end up being a game every 2 days soon.

The league can’t risk cancelling the season as it means no promotion and if the football leagues chairman’s get any chance to stop it in future seasons this is it. The league will keep going and so should we.

If one player showing symptoms is enough to force you all out of action that would suggest your internal protocols are pretty weak.

I can’t get my head around with all this uncertainty about the league finishing this season but some clubs are spending money like they have just won the lottery.

The season won’t finish at this rate because the vast majority of teams in the league were happy to take the grants to play the season, but refused to spend any of it on testing and won’t make any particularly effort to play games even when they’re not isolating.

The league needs to take control of this - Yeovil vs Notts should’ve been played last weekend. Was inevitable this would happen as soon as they decided they didn’t want to.
Why do you think we don't want to play you?

If these postponents carry on. Non league from the top division should either be cancelled or teams made to play out the season extending to throughout the summer.

When our game at Eastleigh was called off on the Tuesday ahead of last weekend, our local paper said that we’d approached the other teams we’ve previously had to rearrange a game with who also weren’t playing that day about bringing it forward. None of them wanted to.

They’re also saying we’ve tried the same thing again after learning this game would probably be off on Friday, but again had no takers.

We've tried the same, wanted to play Eastleigh on Saturday gone instead of the rearranged Tuesday night, they weren't interested, I can see why teams wouldn't for purely selfish reasons but these games need to be played.

Don't rely on the league to do anything, they've consistently proved to be hopeless at everything.

I was really confused begining of last season why people were like, you dont want to be non league...I thought it wasnt that bad

But this really is a tinpot league with tinpot owners and teams who are clearly playing the rules to get games called off.
Actually done with this season it can f*** right off!

I don’t think teams are actively trying to get games called off, per se, but the vast majority definitely aren’t doing enough to try and get games on when they can.

If the season passes a certain amount of games I believe PPG can be used. So what benefit do teams near the foot of the table have by playing games.
What say, they call games off meaning they cant play enough games and the season just gets cancelled.

Proper Clubs are trying to get on with the season as best they can. 5 Brothers in the top 8 of the league speaks volumes, along with a couple of solid Non-Leaguers like Alty and Halifax.

The tinpotters are more than happy to not play and have the grant money rolling in, they've probably never been better off some of them. Whole thing is a joke but don't expect the league to do anything.

Any tinpotters hoping the league will be cancelled are surely deluding themselves? We've played all the way through the peak of this second wave and case numbers are thankfully falling all over the country, so why would they decide to stop playing now?

The league really needs to look into the Covid protocols of some clubs because it seems it's the same few over and over again getting cases.

If what Ollie Bayless has tweeted is true that the next tranche of funding will come via loans then there’s no way this season will be finished.

Seems an odd decision by DCMS, will just force everyone to furlough all of their players and staff, costing them/the taxpayer all of that money anyway.

On the other hand, they’re probably looking at the hopeless Covid protocols that seem to be in place and wondering what the point is.

A positive Covid case at the club which has now entered an isolation period which will end on Monday 25th January.

Your internal covid protocols must be very poor if one case causes full shutdown for over a week.

Impressed a Barnet fan is commenting on Covid. Where they are doing a 2 for 1 at The Hive immunisation and virus all welcome.
