Not really sure why football fans always want seal of approval from opposition managers tbh. It’s kinda their job to worry about their own side, I can’t remember the last time I gave another managers comments a moments thought. Artell is a poor manager (or at least one that’s learning on the job) who can ramble on once in a while but I don’t see it a big deal for him to be perplexed at last night. If you saw the game you’d have seen there was little reason for anyone other than Crewe fans to think Exeter had any chance of even a draw once we went 1-0 up. He’s right to be utterly pissed off at the mentality of these players.

I agree but publically slating them clearly with a confidence issue surely isn't productive?

Not sure it will have an effect either way. The players will know they fucked up. Artell telling them they did good and were unlucky to be overawed by the might of Exeter City would most likely have bemused them.

Plus, we don't have a confidence issue. We have a shiteness issue.

It’s not about getting a seal of approval from Artell, but his comments were just incorrect in so much as we still had to put the ball in the net twice despite how bad Crewe’s attempts to stop us were. If we hadn’t have had that fighting attitude we’d not have gotten back into the game.

Oh and for what it’s worth, Tisdale heaped praise on Crewe’s first half performance saying they were superb, but I guess he wouldn’t have said that had we lost the game...!
