I'm very happy with his "finish in the CL places at Liverpool's expense" philosophy. It's great.

You see the way Zaha put in the megs on Evans. Utd should sign that lad.

I reckon I could put in the megs on Evans though, while drunk, and sleepwalking.

From Fergie's philosophy of winning titles and CL every year to this...tsk tsk tsk.

After all their protestations about 'not being Scouse' they sack a manager after eight months. Now they are celebrating fourth like they have always slated Arsenal for. Either side of a summer where they simply pissed money in fees and wages at any mercenary who would look in their direction - which City and Chelsea were disgusting for doing.

They have become everything they hate.

For a modern Manchester City fan/sympathiser to say that with what I assume was a straight face is actually brilliant. Not emoticon brilliant, but actually brilliant.

The worst team to finish in the top 4 for god knows how many years, they are simply abysmal. I think Van Gaal needs to sign an entire first choice defence, 2 world class midfielders, another top winger to go with Depay and a world class striker. That's just to compete with Chelsea nevermind the CL.

You are a reactionary moron

No wonder you seemed to have voted Tory

We hate United, we do. They buy success, they do. We are proud to be the club of the working classes in Manchester, we are. All our fans are from Manchester and United fans are all foreign, they are. They are arrogant, full of mercenaries, prawn sandwich eating, no-noise making, out of towners who have no real affiliation to the club, the place, the history. We'd rather die than be anything like them, we would. Earn it, don't buy it.

Oh shit, we actually won the lottery.

We hate United, we do. - Yep.

They buy success, they do. - Not the issue. It's that they spend money (as do any top club) but still have this mythology of not doing it. Doing it the United Way. (which isn't at all breaking the transfer record time after time and hanging out at airports to kidnap players). I took the piss when Keane was the first £50k a week player. I took the piss when Veron cost £25m.

We are proud to be the club of the working classes in Manchester, we are. - You're the working class club of Salford.

All our fans are from Manchester and United fans are all foreign, they are. - Ask Spear about his twitter maps of how many United fans there are in Kenya.

They are arrogant, full of mercenaries, prawn sandwich eating, no-noise making, out of towners who have no real affiliation to the club, the place, the history. - You are arrogant and the motorways and airports are chokka after every game.

We'd rather die than be anything like them, we would. - Death or being Spear? Hmmmm...

Earn it, don't buy it. - No.. That's your mantra.

This is where City fans are guilty of hypocrisy though. There are plenty of City fans from outside Manchester. Places like Lancashire, Cheshire, Derbyshire, Northern Ireland. People follow them because it's a lot more interesting and exciting than watching Accrington, Macclesfield, New Mills or Linfield.

Loads of people in Carlisle follow Newcastle. Newcastle have won fuck all for years.

Yes Manchester United have an astonishing number of plastics and I genuinely don't understand what such people get out of following the club. But there's nothing funamentally different about United, they've just been the best and so attracted the most. You see more and more Chelsea fans in random places these days and the same will happen to City in due course. Are City fans going to accept they've become a blue Manchester United? No, they aren't. The vast majority of them will lap it up because they like competing at the top. Even if it's using money from an absolutely horrendous source.

Most of the places you mentioned are like, commuter belt to Manchester.

But yeah, a lot of people from other places support a lot of football teams. Not all of them boast about their 650m fans worldwide though.

Interesting you say that, we played Southport the day city played Bayern in the CL and I passed at least 10 coaches of City coming up from the West Country.

City are championship contenders so there going to be gloryboy bandwagon jumpers and unfortunately you'll have to get used to it. It's no different to when I went to school in Hampshire during the 70's and 80's and everyone was a Liverpool fan. Last 20 years there has been a growth in United and now I see more City and Chelsea shirts than ever before. It's shit, it happens.

Stockport County.
City home games are full of tourists and johnny come lately's (look at Silkyman- he was a Macclesfield fan until the arab takeover). They too like they're Manchester support seem to attract the biggest losers and weirdos that can be found.

The Etihad is like going to a Westlife concert, the whole atmosphere around that shiny, souless stadium is simply very strange and un-football like. They have become everything they claimed they hated and worse. And the thick divs lap it up. Well we couldn't have predicted that.

The myth about City being the working class team of Manchester has always been a myth actually. United were the team for most of the inner city areas and City gained most of their support coming out into Stockport and Cheshire. It skewed peoples opinions with United's success and loads of southerners etc following United. City have never been the working class club in Manchester. They were always distinclty more middle class, family club.
