Pardew got west ham promoted a year after losing in the play off final to us, and this was back in the days before west ham were throwing money at it, that must count for something.

You also sold a lot of talent from under him didn't you?

Exactly, we know our place, we know we're punching above our weight and if we do end up back in the championship I'm sure we'll be sticking with pardew to get us back.
He's come home to a club that doesn't expect miracles, all we want is to remain competitive, it's a better fit all round.

He never had any problem with it (why would he? he was extremely fortunate to be here to begin with) and was more often than not parrotting whatever bullshit Ashley and co. told him to regarding reinvestment. Remember the £35mil we got for Andy Carroll? Pardew was Jabba's bitch all said and done. Nothing more.

Good luck to you with him, and even more so your flair players who I doubt will last long. We don't expet miracles either, but we do expect a competent manager who knows how to use the players at the club and doesn't alienate the best players in our squad.
