Just on a side note regarding what you said above; Are the owners just cashing in on every asset? I see you have included us in the category AA games charging £37 for us, Brum and Charlton? Taking the piss, init.

Back on topic, we were always going to have a squad that was to take us out of non league and league 2, then see where we go. We've had Hayden and Tozer go from l1/l2 down to non league, which have cost us money to get them to us, but have since been released.

It is shocking I agree and no doubt you will make us pay the same in the reverse fixture. It is cheaper in advance but still a piss take.

But our chairman and owners are based in the US and apparently have had alot of people asking when we play you so they can come over and watch - seeing as we're London based as well, I can see a few stray yanks maybe wanting to come in. So its basically a cash in - like what most Americans seem to be doing these days.

ST (with two up front, we need to be well covered and I don't think we can rely on Walker being fit - we also lack some Taylor-esque pace up there).

I liked Maris but he always seemed to get bad injuries with his hip when with us which I think could be down to his odd running style.

Maris is weird, I'd probably name him really really late if you told me to name anyone who had played for us since I'd been watching us, but when his name comes up you just remember bangers and strops.


I took a mate to watch us away once, he banged one in from 30 yards directly in line with us, perfect view of a goal. 20 minutes in or so, turned to me and was like ''Damn, I get why you love doing this!''', but by full time at 3 or 4 down, he sincerely asked me ''So, you really don't like that goalie Forde, do you?''.

We had four or five years' worth of injuries last season and must have picked up seven or eight this summer, enough to cancel a forthcoming friendly at Barrow anyway

They can share the workload the same with Baxter and Luke Southwood..... Both decent in their own right but again may share the work load

Our outgoings this summer so far just show the level of recruitment that is needed, saturdays bench v Shrewsbury had a lot of U21s and U18s to pad it out for numbers, this is why we are having to bring in quite a few.

i think we have to be very confident based on the calibre of player we are bringing in, our squad is paper thin, we could end up playing 60 odd games so that needs bulking up.

The biggest unknown is the gaffer, unproven, untried but highly regarded as a coach.

Dalby may or may not get loaned out. Ditto Davies, though he is doing ok in pre season so far.

We are expecting a U21 striker loan from a prem team and a few names have been mooted which if they come off will be exciting

We need a keeper. Our back up is out all season. We look incredibly light up front. I think Heburn-Murphy is OK but he isn't going to score the goals at 1 every 2 games. We are also rather small, any ball pumped forward is coming straight back at us. Last season we coped by having Kellan Gordan out wide who could compete.

Positiveness. Quitirna will cause problems. We will have lots of possesion and Adeyamo, off the bench, will make things happen. Defensively we look OK apart from the wide open spaces down the sides. 3 at the back issue more than personnel. We have also, seemingly, become susceptible to a long ball over the top.

Anywhere out of the relegation places will be a good season.

Midfielders: Reece Cole; Pedro Borges; Charlie Cummings; Ryan Woods (2 year deal); Ed Francis (signed for undisclosed fee from Gateshead)

Attacking midfielders: Jack Aitchison; Demi Mitchell; Yanic Wildschut

Strikers; Josh Magennis; Millenic Alli; Sonny Cox; Jay Bird (1 year deal)

Squad is looking almost sorted and I’m pretty pleased with the recruitment overall. Woods and Magennis will be huge for us judging by what we’ve seen already. And Ed Francis looks a really exciting player. We’ve also added some physicality to our back line, although loans are an unknown at times. A few people are concerned about Whitworth being tiny for a ‘keeper (He’s 5ft 9!) but hopefully he’ll live up to the hype from those who’ve seen him at Palace.

Think we need two more - a central midfielder to bulk up that position and definitely a no.10. I understand we’re still in for Luke Harris from Fulham but Birmingham are in for him too, so he’ll probably end up there!

I don’t anticipate a struggle this season and can see us surprising a few.
