I play any chance i can get really, some night's i'll be on until 3am without realising the time.

13 bosses slayed, level 66. Rocking a +8 long sword. I'm kinda stuck at the moment, i've lost sense of direction.

Blimey, that's a lot of progress just for one week.

Got to Smouldering Lake. Honestly, fuck the Catacombs, died more times in there than on my whole playthrough. Tried the boss in there once, he one shotted me by touching me with his hand. Wasn't even an attack, he was just turning a bit.

Anyone doing any sidequests? I'm currently completely hollow, this quest seems interesting so I'm gonna see where it goes instead of curing it.

Just beat PS, although I find them a lot harder I prefer these types of fights rather than Gimmicky fight's like the Greatwood or Wolnir.
That said, this was the first boss where I found his second phase easier than his first phase.

Failed a sidequest though as I wanted to re-spec my character and it forces you to join a certain covenant to do so, making an NPC hostile. So I killed said NPC in front of the Firekeeper then wore their armour like a trophy.

I'm fairly certain I have to trudge through an underground area (another one), full of nasty buggers who inflict curse, to progress the story. After the boss,
Anor Londo
seems like a dead end.

Are we talking about a certain dungeon here?

I just got to the place in Jockneys spoiler.
Also I haven't seen Siegward again yet so I'm guessing I failed his quest.

I did the same thing, except now I can't find the dude that was leaning against Lothric's throne in the Firelink Shrine.

Nope, not faced that yet. In the Profaned Capital, which feels troublingly like Blighttown/The Gutter.

By pure chance found Siegward in the well outside the Cleansing Chapel while I was searching for Rosaria. That was quite some time after I'd defeated the Deacons of the Deep, as well, so he's probably still there. You need to buy back his gear from Baldy Twat Patches.

I'm stuck at Undead Settlement. Literally the start of it. The first time I attempted it I got to the second fat lady on the left, since then I just keep getting destroyed by the little grunt f**kers, whether I try and go the original path or across the bridge to the right.

Enjoying the game though. Still a DS newbie. Played up to the demon with the club on DS1, until I stopped using my 360. Watched someone play the whole duration of Bloodborne so love that game, but I'm only up to Father Gascoigne myself. I'm one of those that casually play CoD/FIFA, so rarely find time to sink hours into the games when I get stuck!

Quite proud I got past the first two bosses without any help tbh! The best I've done in the three From Software games I've played until now.

Just keep at it, grind levels if you need to. Just pour levels into Vigor, Endurance and Strength until you figure out how you want to play, then maybe re spec if needs be. Best feeling ever when llater on you come back and destroy the grunts that were doing you in before.

Is the halberd a good weapon? I tried it once earlier and it seems good at hitting enemies from range.

Been using the Axe +1 and Rapier +1 up until now, but might give the Halberd a go upgraded, if you guys think it's a good idea?

Honestly it all depends on how you like playing, if you like the moveset ect. I know in DS1 the Halberd was really good for a good portion of the game but I haven't heard much said about it here. Personally, early on I farmed the Lothric Knight (the ones near the second boss) to get the Lothric knight sword. If you've got the strength for it there's a good axe in the building where the dragon sits on High wall of Lothric, just be careful with the chest itself.

I'm trying to go guide-free as this is the first time I've played a Souls game from launch. So far only used the wiki to find Rosaria.

Oh and I'm using a Dark Sword that I got earlier in the game from killing that assassin dude in the basement cell at the High Wall. It's ridiculously powerful for how easy it is to use. Seem to have struck it lucky.

I'm using the same sword, used a refined gem so that the dex scaling matches the str since my dex and str are above 20, also got it to plus 7 so far

I'm just messing around playing fashion souls atm, trying to find a cool spear to infuse with lightning and shit. Also I've seen Smough's gear so does that mean they got Ornstein's too?

Just did that part, I knew what the gimmick was as soon as I picked it up since it's the same as a certain boss in Demons Souls.
Still took me 3 tries and messing about at the bonfire to figure out you have to charge it...

Then dropped me straight into the next boss so I noped the fuck out with a homeward bone.

Haven't seen Ornstein's shit, but
the Anor Londo stuff was cool as far as fan service goes. Going up and down their differently-sized elevators made me pine for the first DS, though I am still enjoying myself.

It really confused me because in DS2 you have to kill the giants in the memories to remove Vendrick's defensive barrier, so I thought that, considering Yhorm is also a giant, it would be something along those lines.

The same thing happened to me. I've been laying my soapstone down to practice for the fight and her movesets are hard with two, three and even four people, let alone one, so it could be tricky. I've beaten every boss solo up to this point, though, so I don't want to spoil my record.

I beat her second try, once I figured out to stay away from her grab. I treated her like Abys Watchers, basically stay out of her range and with health topped up incase she does that spin attack. Yeah first time through i'm solo'ing the bosses. NG+ i'll summon if needs be.

Also, I never even got that far on DS1, although I've seen stuff online about. Even though I didn't get far I could tell how good that game was. I'd love them to give it the SotFS treatment.

Yeah, the first Dark Souls is great. This instalment feels very much like a 'greatest hits' of the series. Everything is well crafted but there is a lack of originality, especially in the latter half of the game, and some of the assets feel like they were ripped straight from Bloodborne without modification. From were contractually obliged to make five Souls games for Bandai-Namco (DS, DS: PTD, DSII, DSII: SOTFS, DSIII) and I think it shows. Also diminishing returns and wotnot.

Anyway, I'm on what I'm pretty sure is the final final boss after the typical Souls FINAL BOSS fakeout.

Undead settlement felt too BB (Hemlock) and I just got to Grand Archives which feels distinctly BB. Other than that I've enjoyed most areas, except maybe Catacombs. Fuck the Catacombs
Also them Ithiryll outriders or whatever they're called are harder than most bosses

Catacombs and Smouldering Lake were also very BB: felt uncannily like Chalice Dungeons.

You're very close to the end now. I just finished the game. Got the 'bad' ending.
I am the Dark Lord of Londor, etc, etc. Before that: I did quite like how the two Princes Lothric decided they'd rather lock themselves away in their throne room and watch the world die, and them along with it, than sacrifice themselves to the flame. The image of them watching the lights go out one by one is chilling.

Killed the big tree after two attempts. Killed Crystal Sage on the first go. I'm in some sort of cemetery now with enemies that like to set themselves on fire.
