Forgot how much of pain Rochdale is to get to, looks like Train, Train, Tram, Train and Bus. (Not me, i'm planning for someone else)
I did wonder why a Scunny fan was looking at plans to get to Rochdale when you're (hopefully) beating Stevenage at home on Monday.

Massive game up at Tranmere. Not overly bothered about the title, just finish top 3. So would take a draw, especially with the next 2 home games after.

Used to saying we wont turn up in front of big crowds, but under Taylor, we seem to have that something where the big games bring out the best in us. (Except for Wembley vs Northampton)

600 tickets sold too so should be a decent following. Win and then would expect Rochdale (H) and Barrow (H) to both sell out.
I wasn't bothered about the title, but now we're so close...

Promotion first though, and a draw and 2 wins would hopefully see it confirmed against Barrow.

Unless FGR can sort themselves out I can definitely see a situation where PV and ourselves are playing for the title on the final day.

The referee for our game is going to be the one who did our first game at Bristol. He ended up sending off two Rovers players (one of them quite rightly and the other one it’s hard to tell). Could go one of two ways, either he looks to even things up our way this time or he will be strict with them from the start.

Paddock now sold out apparently so only the Bycars left. Looks like the largest home crowd in a long time tomorrow. Hopefully the Bycars can fill up.

can’t see us getting anything tomorrow. The one hope is that DCs team were generally under performers under big crowds.

I don’t actually think we’ve been playing well of late. We’re toothless upfront and lack a clinical edge. However, what we’ve learnt to do is pick up points against the top teams - which is the opposite of what we were doing earlier in the season.

I reckon just based on the interest in Vale now ahead of this game the club should be looking ahead to the Newport game and seeing if can partition the Hamil. Whether we’ll be allowed to I don’t know but suppose will depend on how many Newport look likely to bring.

I mentioned this on OVF, assume needs a barrier installing inside but surely they wont bring more than 500, open it up get 3000 more in if demand is there. Let’s get the ground rocking like the glory days of the 90s again.

Obviously, froma selfish perspective I’m hoping for an Exeter
/Vale double tomorrow - as long as we actually win, of course.

If we do scrape into the POs the other likely candidates all have tinpot away capacities. I reckon we should cap ours to get the same level.

To be honest the last couple of games we were not particularly sparkling performance wise but winnings a habit and we’ve learned how to grind those wins out like at Hartlepool on Friday.

I’m hopeful we’ve got enough seasoned pros like Proctor, Worrall and Wilson who will have played in front of far bigger crowds in their career so freezing in front of that shouldn’t be a problem. I expect it to be close, wouldn’t surprise me if it ended up 0-0 after all this.

Friday makes it a must not lose rather than must win, but a win and it’s almost there. I’m nervous as hell even though a defeat and we are no worse off than we were Thursday in that’s it’s still very much ours to lose. Just having something to lose now rather than chasing or a 50/50 position.

Huge crowd, biggest since the promotion game in terms of home support in 2013 and maybe potentially bigger than that going back to the 90s so it’s critical we put on a performance to keep those fans and continue the rebirth of the club isn’t it?

I’d take a draw here but a win and we’d really start to believe this is on.

Absolutely fucking bricking it and it's 5:20 on Sunday ffs.

Think half the ground will be in tears when that initial reception gets belted out for Dazzler. Setting up to be one hell of an emotional day.

To be honest, we've scrapped through the last couple, although we were excellent at Salford. It's all about results at this stage of the season and I expect Rovers to be one of the best teams we have played this season. You were poor up until Christmas but something seems to have clicked since then.

Going to be a good atmosphere and two good teams going at it.

You may regret that ,maybe not but your not promoted yet though you seem to think you are

I've not said we're promoted?

Northampton and Bristol Rovers are still in contention (should the latter beat us tomorrow). You certainly aren't catching us.

Oh FFS he gifted you that game and we still should have got something out of it. I wonder how often that happens where the same ref is involved in both games

I’ve never known of it but am sure it did at some point.

Good time to mention we’ve not been given a penalty yet this season….

No idea how Rovers v Exeter will go. It could be a rerun of the FGR home game when we where totally overwhelmed or like one of the other battles with promotion contenders which have been tighter games. As we effectively need a win to keep in contention with the play-offs, we will start more robustly than at Bradford. Agree a draw most likely option.

Well if any ref is going to give you one it's that guy. I suspect Barton gave him an ear bashing after that first game so maybe that will be in his mind and go against us. You know refs, they like to be the centre of attention..:bg:

He’s only sent four players off all season… two of them were that night! Couldn’t really argue the second one but don’t think we’ve ever seen a clip of the first one to know either way on that.

It’s not ideal with the first game in mind though, we will have to be squeaky clean!

3 big games at the bottom of the table - huge games for Barrow, Stevenage and Oldham. Win's for us and Stevenage and defeat for Oldham and it's effectively all over - whereas a win for Oldham and defeat for us and/or Stevenage means the shit hits the fire again. I'm more confident about our game after Friday's win - but that only stretches as far as we might get a draw. I can't see Scunthorpe scoring so 0-0 is probably the worst Stevenage will do, but realistically they should shithouse a 2 or 3 goal win. As for Oldham.... If that red card is/was upheld that could be a big factor - particularly as Jamille Matt played all game against us (despite what the Oldham and other forum's think) - and you'll need a decent centre half against him. Key to the match could be Cadden - he was lucky not to get a 1st half red against us, but can put over a decent cross and shoot coming in off either foot. Oldham fans - if you've not got a full back as committed as Connor Brown you could be in trouble there...

I can't remember many penalty claims being turned down though. Poss a result of our wide men starting from relatively low down the pitch so not cutting into the area so much or something

We've probably only had a couple of half shouts for penalties too. Surprising considering we're the joint 3rd highest scorers. We don't really play with players that drive into the area with pace.

Are there any other teams yet to have a peno this season?
It seems mad, I can’t remember a season when we haven’t had one

Based on Tranmere's performance at Valley Parade on Friday, you should win comfortably, provided you don't get someone sent off after 30 mins like we did
In fairness, we are generally a different side at home, and Bristol Rovers, Mansfield, Port Vale and Swindon have not found us a pushover at Prenton Park in the last couple of months.

However, I still doubt we can actually win the game.

Burton in the cup and Salford at home both stone wall but otherwise not really a lot.

We are due one! I don’t even know who our taker is!
