Fantastic point and a superb 10 points from 12 against FGR, Carlisle, Morecambe and Tranmere.

I'd like to see the pen again but from first reaction it looked soft. We weren't at our best but Tranmere weren't that great either. Results elsewhere very very good too so a big point and we move onto Exeter with 6 more to play.

Forest Green gone, Bolton bottling it, Tranmere won't make the top 3 but from what I've seen Morecambe could be the late team to the party.
Guaranteed three points for you on Saturday

Outstanding return from us recently, today was the poorest we've played for a little while, penalty a little questionable, but got done what we needed to and we've done the hard yards when we really had to, to the point where 2 more wins might be enough, I don't think it will, but it might.

trying my hardest to not think we've just gone and poached the greatest manager of all time.

Nah he’s shit, Walsall fans said so.

Can’t believe Green missed that at the end there, was a blatant handball from the keeper but Green has to do better.

For one week I just want to see Hurst actually try and win a football match and risk a loss, we made our subs far too late today
Looked to me like it hit the keepers shoulder, but Green just had to take it round him anyway for an easy goal as the keeper was committed and wouldn’t have been able to stop him.

on the 1st 75 mins yes they were - the miss from 2 yards was shocking and Nouble couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo....
but on the last 15 mins it was their own fault, they showed no attacking intent and even when we equalised they just played for the point rather than risking losing

These things happen when you've won one game in 24, psychologically it must be difficult.

You were all saying that yourselves 5 or 6 games ago too weren’t you?
i certainly wasn't.

there were improvements right from the off under clarke and i think most vale fans on here agreed.

we've gone from not knowing where the next goal is coming from to thinking i'm not sure how we lose a game. ridiculous i know but we just look well oiled, disciplined, pacey, combative.

i know we got a lot of stick for saying it on friday but this is proof that our strongest team is significantly better than our league position over the last few months

Nope. The improvement was there defensively from the start, we had an awful run on paper but were unlucky in most games to lose or draw. Now the results, confidence and fitness have improved we look a top side. Just a shame it’s come too late.

Today’s win was as good as the others as we had to dig in against aerial bombardment and the dominated the second half with two good goals.

The Manny, Monty, Wozza wining run goes on which backs up my points over the weekend.

i think you hit the nail on the head there - and today will have made it worse....
should Southend somehow find a way to win at Morecambe you'd best get someone good to hypnotise your players to make them have some self belief - or you might go down.

Our last three home games are Bolton, Cheltenham and FGR. With the way we are playing we will be lucky to come out of those with an aggregate of 0-12

We got to fifty points and stopped playing.

The Oldham fourth goal sums Crawley up at the moment. Left back left 2 on 1 because our midfield couldn't be bothered. Cross into the box which is allowed to get to Adams who was all on his own as our midfield couldn't be bothered. His volley is well saved by Morris. The ball goes loose in the six yard box for Bambouham to find time to stand up, look around, finish his tea, tie a shoelace before scoring!

Meantime, I'm informed Josh Wright has now started eleven games for us. We haven't won one. It's OK though. According to our manager it's the supporters who are " didiloes" (slang for an idiot)

You’ll lose 6-0 to both Bolton and Cheltenham then.

Entirely possible..but that doesn't mean FGR won't thrash us as well.

We have gone from a goodish upper mid table side to a shambles.

Only had the radio but we were just dreary and time just slid away to nothing. Amazing we're still not far off the autos thanks to other results but we won't be troubling them in any case, play offs might still be on given the gap but what will we do if we get there in our current state?

Ok fair enough, I thought I recalled some of you saying in his first few games that he was overly negative and stuff like that especially when you were 3-0 down at Cheltenham but I’ve just had a look back at that thread and it’s more you all just slagging your team off as wasters rather than calling out your Manager.

I don’t think we’ve won for like 7 games now but it’s another point atleast.

Calm down, we have had a good run but we all know Monty, Manny and Wozza make a massive difference to us. I have been impressed with the changes he has made but we need to judge him over a much longer period than 10 games.

There was a stat going round for a while that since Clarke switched from Walsall to Vale, neither team had won a game.

This unbeaten run of ours just shows that if we had Hurst here since the start of the season we would be flying, we would still be unbeaten after 38 games with a record of W6 D32 L0 and would be sat comfortably safe on 50 points already.
Damn you Ian Holloway.

Pretty poor game between ourselves and Stevenage. They only looked threatening from set pieces and we had a few nearly moments but a draw a fair result.

Does appear from a distance that Grimsby at least are trying their best. I think the pathway for survival is too narrow now but if can get rid of Fenty I can see you hopefully being in contention next year.

Maybe we can patch up Matt in time for them? Protective cast or something?

If not looking at the patchy form of the rest of the sides and, given we’d have to have actually won some games between now and then to get there, we would stand a chance I reckon.

To be fair if we weren't so desperate for wins we would hold onto a few more when 1-0 up. Probably be on 56 points!

He will be judged over the summer but in fairness the defensive improvement is chalk and cheese and even improvements in Theo, Mills and Crookes.

I’m positive after this run, more so the manner of the wins than just the results. We’ve looked good and deserving all in all 5.

Sounds like the best player in the league Kieran Lee had an absolute mare today. Very quiet on here again....

Today’s victory means Vale are the only club of the current 92 to have beaten all other 91 clubs in a league game at some point after beating the new Newport and Salford before today’s win against Harrogate.

After beating FGR all the ducks where in a row, but a shocking Easter put everything into perspective, all runs come to an end but we beat ourselves today, Newport did ok but it should have been at least 3-1at half time, the free kick was very questionable for the goal, but when a player like Keiron Lee misses from a yard out, then misses an easier chance straight after, you just know that you will pay a price. So despite just 1 point in 6 we are still in the mix and all to play for. I think it will come down to who loses least rather than wins most. Lots of nervy teams on show.

Don’t think anybody would begrudge Morecambe a place in the top 3. Tremendous effort from them this season.
Think their game against Southend is more difficult than it looks, although Southend would have to replicate that performance at FGR to get anything.
