You mean the FA Trophy, which is played on Saturdays anyway?
It's only teams at step 5 of the non-league system that enter the FA Vase.

My bad, the FA Trophy though aswell as the paint pot will still add unwanted fixtures, especially if the club is semi-pro.

They won't tell who voted what due to the general hostility to the competition with B teams from supporters. Clubs can do it themselves, but Harvey will want to keep the clubs onboard so to give such info could cause problems for those who vote for the B teams.

I find the delay very interesting. At first I thought it was for b teams and efl didn't want to say......but then I thought this current efl doesn't care about p*ssing fans off and looking amateur so would announce with glee.

Now think it was a no to b teams and delay is either efl too scared to tell pl, or efl trying some tricks to change result or some clubs views.

Maybe, Alan Swann's journalism is notoriously shit but after the contempt the trophy was shown this year by clubs and fans alike they might be trying to buy their way into it. 48million between 20 clubs is small fry to them anyway.

Either way, if we sell out I hope we draw Swansea's toddlers, Plymouth and Exeter.

Most likely is that a winner in a sold out Wembley final makes £1m out of it, and therefore it's "potentially" offered to all clubs.

Not to mention that if we all get £1m each and use it to buy the same set of players then none of us are actually better off.

Probably not, but it's still a Category 1 Academy so will be asked before the Category 2's unless they decide to skip us. Never know what the nutjobs at the PL/EFL will do.

Agree with your points 1, 3 and 4. I have a lot of time for the guy/s who set up AL3 so this isn't knocking them but so many posters there are too quick to blame Shaun Harvey only. Too simplistic IMO. The FL is a private members' club who appoint a CEO to oversee the running of the 3 leagues on a day-to-day basis and promote their collective interests. Harvey has come up with some batshit ideas - prem academies in the FLT and the monstrous 'whole game solution' spring to mind - but the ultimate decision lies with the FL clubs' chairmen/CEOs/owners. They see short-term £s and vote for that, to the detriment of their own clubs' future and that of the FL as a whole.

This isn't a defence of Harvey, who's not fit for purpose IMO. But, again, who appointed him? Yes, the then FL club chairmen. They probably thought someone with 3 administrations under his belt gave him the relevant experience
