Paid £10 on Ifollow to watch an experienced Tranmere line up beat Leeds U21’s 4-1, when it was £5 to pay on the gate ???

Very much a game of men against boys first half followed by a very scrappy second. Don’t think Leeds have one of the better U21 sides, although Sean McGurk looks like he could play a level or two higher!

We were playing poor opposition, but I thought Maynard and Foley looked very good tonight and should start on Saturday. Ryan Watson could do with watching Foley's performance and emulating it.

Apparently you could watch it for £3.50 through Leeds. Agree about the quality of the opponent, though they kept battling to the end.

Agreed that Maynard and especially Foley played well. Also Macdonald, even if not fully fit, showed the benefits of playing a proper and competent left-back at left back.

Rollin was always late for training, and even did his driving test without telling Clough and missed training.

Tuesday 28th September

Carlisle United v Everton U21
Forest Green Rovers v Brighton and Hove Albion U21
Oldham Athletic v Leeds United U21
Colchester United v West Ham United U21

Good luck to all four League 2 teams, even if most fans don't care about result.

While it’s true that the competition has been devalued since the U21 teams have been allowed in, always like to see the big boys giving the kids teams a pasting. It reinforces the stupidity of the B teams idea; a B team Is only likely to succeed in the FL if they’re allowed to bolster a kids side with older players. Which undermines the argument about developing youngsters, which B team advocates put forward. So good luck to all the L2 teams on Tuesday.

This evening's match FGR v Brighton and Hove Albion U21s has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
Following a pitch inspection, referee Anthony Coggins determined that one area of the pitch was unplayable.

Not surprised, walking up the hill was almost walking through a torrent of water.

Our mostly second-string side are 2-0 up against Everton U23. Both goals scored by Villa loanee Brad Young

Attendance of 875 is the second lowest home attendance in our history (45 Everton fans)

I thought we were playing tonight, but it seems like our match is actually next week. I suppose that shows how little regard I have for this bollox

the matches are pretty much scheduled for the convenience of the Premier League teams, we'd probably have been next week too and when you play Everton it'll be on a Friday afternoon or some other nonsensical time.

I want to know why with b teams being so great how Barcelona and Madrid are not still dominating Europe on a tiny budget since they should of course have an entire squad of top class young players brought through the correct way.

man guessing Barcelona’s billions of debt was created by making a new car park or some catering facilities.

meanwhile, Real Madrid were just beaten at home by Sheriff Tiraspol.

Quite a few EFL2 teams involved in competition on Tuesday.
As usual good luck to them all, especially Exeter City.

Some time on the pitch for the squad players, but my "shits given" cupboard remains bare. Won't be there, won't be listening, won't be checking the score.

No interest in the result at all but good chance to get more minutes for our squad players. Sooner we are out the better, it’s been quite a nice advantage for us the last few weeks not having any midweek fixtures to deal with.

Just had a look at the Salford City forum to see what they had to say about tomorrows game. They have got barely any supporters. There are about 25 members of the forum.

I would like to see mass changes:

Stone in Goal

Benning LWB
Gibbons RWB

Johnson
Smith
Martin CB's

Politic
Taylor CAM's

Walker if fit enough to get minutes CDM

Rodney
Amoo up front

Give them all minutes, get walker some match minutes back in as may need him at the weekend with Garrity injured.

Still a strong enough side at this level too.

Some League 1 teams will be taking Tuesday's games more serious than would be expected.

Many have no games at weekend and some like Cheltenham, who have lost last three games, will be using match against Exeter to regain their mojo [according to their manager]

Tranmere’s first ever competitive fixture at Moor lane with fans (a few anyway). Its fairly local for me so I’ll probably travel over and give our reserves a bit of support.
Enjoyed this competition last season and would like to see us progress further, but not at the expense of league form.

Hopefully we play our reserves and youth team and lose as it's a competition we could do without.

I don’t know you know, with the depth in the squad this season it isn’t a bad thing to give players game time to keep fresh so might not to a bad exercise.
