The draw between morecambe and Hartlepool with the monkey hangers taking the penalty point apparently means we've qualified for the next round. A pox on both of their houses

Ours against Arsenal U21s is also next week, believe it was initially scheduled for last night. Both teams have call-ups.

Fell asleep instead of watching it last night but caught the highlights just now

Jono Mitchell's positioning wasn't great, can see why Killip stays in. Cullen missing several really good chances but hope he stays in on Saturday, at least he's getting the chances. Our other forwards can barely muster a shot between them.

Several of the backup lads did alright judging by the comments on Twitter.

We’ve gone all sensible with our line up this evening. I’m looking forward to seeing the fringe players. There are 2 or3 on the bench I’ve never even heard of. Our keeper coach, Steve Mildenhall, is on the bench, too. Must be donkey’s years since he played a game. Just checked - it’s 5 years.

Mildenhall? Crikey, he played against us for Notts Co in our first L1 playoff season under Neale Cooper. Tony Barras was in the Notts defence that day, and he played for us in the 1980s!

Cracking performance, that against a fairly strong Plymouth side. We controlled the first 20, went 1 up. Remainder of the half nearly all Plymouth who should really have gone in at half time winning.

Second half we dominated from start to finish - 3-1 win!

Relatively routine 2-0 victory for Sutton tonight at Fratton Park, with 2nd half goals from Issac Olaofe and Louis John. Despite having the majority of possessions Pompey couldn’t create any opportunities.

Newport 3-4 Arsenal U21s. Thoroughly entertaining game, went 1-0. 1-1, 1-2, 2-2, 3-2, 3-3, 3-4.

We used first-team fringe players rather than academy kids and it's probably just as well but we are short at centreback with two first-teamers injured and had to field a midfielder at CB - Christopher Missilou, he was excellent. As was Liverpool loanee Jake Cain who I've criticised before.

Kevin Ellison is literally old enough to be the father of all their players, but played all 90 minutes and also did really well.

I did not watch or listen to it, so have only Pasoti to go on. Surprised we played Pan, but sensible to give back ups or returning to fitness players like Agard and Mayor time and then we four academy players starting. Then we had on the bench a 16 year old ( who got on) and two fifteen year olds (who did not),

Overall, sounds like you deserved it with the second half performance, well done.

What I’d take from the game is that our back up players are streets ahead of yours in their respective leagues if you know what I mean.

If we suffered a raft of injuries/suspensions I think we’d cope pretty well - you, not so much. We only had 2/3 regular, nailed down starters playing last night.

Mayor was a very bright spark for you..

Good luck Saturday!

We were too short of squad size up to transfer day, so our bench was all youngsters. Lowe wanted several, including our CB last night Tomlinson to go out on loan and they never got there. I suspect two or three to be loaned out in Jan. Lowe publicly stated that several of them missed their opportunity to impress last night.

Normally I wouldn't give a toss about this cup and haven't been yet but really glad for Tony Sweeney, taking over in the interim after a crappy couple of days for the club and got a 1-0 win tonight against Everton U23's.

See Bolton gave Rochdale a bit of a walloping in our group so a point against Liverpool U23s means we go through. To be honest if it was down to me I’d find a way to throw the game and exit this thing not that I think DC would ever contemplate that for a second.

I’d take it seriously in terms of its good to give our players not in the team at the time minutes.

We should batter Liverpool regardless as they’ve took two beatings so far. I’d like us to progress, keep the winning going as it breeds confidence.

I’m not sure it has much effect in terms of confidence to be honest. Certainly didn’t last season when we had a bit of a run in it and that coincided with our worst form in the league.

I am just very wary of adding extra midweek fixtures to our schedule plus the increased injury risk. Keep as many clear weeks as possible between league games would be my preference. If miss out a little prize money so be it.

Our lot didn't read any boycott memo. Attendance against Everton U21s was 1990. Sorry.

Few injuries led to us fielding our youngest ever side (I think) against Brighton. 15 year old Josh Tomlinson played 90 minutes at centre half and became our youngest ever player and 12/17 players in the squad came through the academy.

Didn’t go because boycott (just over 1,000 there in total the scab bastards).

County at Swindon on Tuesday, a point will see us through. Lose other than on penalties and it's Arsenal.
