Congratulations to Sutton, and we'll do our best tonight to join you. A nice reminder of the strength of League Two (and the National League, considering where we both were). It's still a horribly tarnished competition, and I wasn't remotely tempted to buy a ticket, but I will watch on TV and, having come this far, I hope we win.

Fantastic to see Sutton through to the final. Hope Pools can get there too.

Aye good luck Pools.

Looking a little dicey at the start though. Can see Rotherham are really high class the way they move the ball. Pools need to get stuck in with a few heavy tackles or something like that otherwise this will only end one way.

Madley bottled that decision there. That’s a red for me. Good performance from Hartlepool since they took the lead though.

Well that was more fun and more tense than I expected it to be. Good luck Sutton. Sorry we can't share your big day with you. You've got your work cut out, as they're a good strong outfit, but you've got a chance.

Thought we battled well against a very good side, think the ref really bottled the early decisions on Wood and then again when Bogle went past the last man, but it is what it is, penna's are just a toss up.

We had a good run and have made some decent money, would've loved a trip to Wembley and nowt against Rotherham but I genuinely hope Sutton go on and win it.

Unlucky Hartlepool, thought they played really well for large parts of that game. Killip had himself some game in goal and Molyneux was really good too. Probably could have been different if Bogle hit the target with that header.

Wasn’t to be. Sutton v Rotherham will be a good final.

See the Newco boys down the road being classy as ever hoping “pools go bust now”. Well you’re experts in that lads.

Yeah there's at least one red from those two incidents. We didn't get the decisions but we did against Torquay so that's how it goes.

Rotherham are basically the Sutton of L1 but with more quality. Big, powerful, loads of balls in the box, got some very good players. We did well to match them for most of it. Don't begrudge them the win, it was a fair result and pens are just a flip of a coin.

Was a good game to watch, and both teams can be proud of their efforts. Crikey; Smith is a real handful up front for Rotherham, but Pools looked dangerous themselves for long spells. On another day; Bogle scores and Pools win.

Far more quality on show from both teams than Dale have produced for a long time; made much better by them being willing to take a chance, and shoot.

Yeah Smith is an excellent striker, has everything in his locker. Surprisingly his career goals record is a bit mediocre but you don't get forwards of his class in L2

Another 30 mins, you'd expect Rotherham to finish strong but anything can happen.

I can honestly say I wouldn't have given a toss about this final even if my own team were in it.

Gutted. To come so close to winning in normal time and losing after injury time is a big disappointment. Can’t fault the effort of the players, but 2022 joins 1963, 1969 and 1981 as big day but bad result.

Hopefully this doesn’t spill over to league form

We lost the JPT final in 2007 and it spurred us on to not only sneak into the play offs but win them as well.
It can work both ways I guess depending on the players

Just got back and I can only say Sutton gave everything and should be proud of their performance.

The Sutton players were running on empty for the last 15 minutes of normal time so the injury time equaliser must have been gutting.

We weren't great today but a lot of that was due to the Sutton players pressing our midfield and turning the ball over.
Our fitness and some class goals got us the win but it was hard on Sutton, I feel for them.

Good luck with your promotion challenge.
