The windy conditions and our heavy pitch could really level things up.
Doubt the covers will be taken off too early.

Why has it only been 1400 for some then 1700 for Grimsby? Think Mansfield only got 1,400.
We've been trying to get full allocations into the SW all season. The Club have been happy to do it, Lincs Police have been happy to do it but SAG haven't. I'm assuming the latter have finally backed down, which is a bit late in the season like.

'Most'? You sure?

You normally get tickets floating around, people that can't go etc. Struggled, but possibly have one now.
Those few form part of the Season Ticket buy-back scheme i.e. if it's a sell-out and an Season Ticket Holder can't make it, they can contact the Club who'll re-sell their seat and the ticket value gets split between the STH and the youth academy. Only after a sell-out, though. That's why it'll show as no tickets then you'll get random seats pop up every now and then.

Have any of the Lincoln fans managed to bag one of the half and half scarves for this one yet?
Can't afford them as well as our Wembley Checkatrade merchandise!

As for the match, we're only missing Josh Vickers through injury now so we have more than one CB available although I doubt James Wilson will be thrown straight back in. Waterfall obviously missing as well through suspension.

You can probably accurately guess 7 of the starting XI but the other 4 will depend on whether we go 4-3-3 or 4-4-2. Cowley will probably be tempted with the former based on the last two performances but 4-4-2 has served us well since they've been here, especially at home. This is the sort of game you'd fancy Anderson to turn up in as well.

Can't believe Grimsby were 5/1 in some places earlier today. I doubt there's ever been such a huge price for a team in this game.

Most Lincoln fans already own a half and half scarf anyway.
One side with Lincoln on, the other side with the team they supported pre 2017 on.

I think we'll be soundly beaten but as long as we show fight, organisation and just an improved performance in general I'll be pleased. We just need to keep getting better in time for when we play the teams around us and hopefully get some points on the way. I have no idea how we'll line up but I expect to see McSheffrey and maybe Wilks thrown in.

How can two different players hit the same post twice in a minute and neither bounces into the net?

Easy if you play from Grimsby Town, 21 minutes gone 0-0.

Sickening. Was even until that. Just fell apart. And that’s why we’ll go down. Definite penalty.

And what fools decided to make that banner? Cringe at best.

So soundly beaten we will be. Sounded like a mad spell where we just shit the bed completely which is no surprise. Half of our team are so mentally weak and sadly that includes our two grandad centre halves. As obvious as it is, we won't be getting anything from this game now. There'll be no miraculous comeback. It could be 7 or 8 for Lincoln.

Im led to believe Danny Cowley made it.

Not really. It was 617 Squadron, our "Ultras" group.

Honestly 3-1 is a decent scoreline for us but it sounded like yet another pathetic performance. Jolley won't keep us up.

Thoughts on today
1. Jeez it was cold!!! Possibly the coldest game I've ever been in nearly 40 years of going to football and in the middle of March too!
2. Thought Grimsby were having the better of it for the first 30 minutes but then...
3. We score and 8 minutes later it's 3-0 as the cods fall to pieces with some of the worst defending I've seen all season.
4. Soft penalty gets our fishy friends a lifeline right on halftime.
5. Second half we controlled it and maybe we should have had a couple with some better finishing as Grimsby really only forced Allsop into one save.
6. Another big crowd and back up to 7th a good day apart from the bitingly cold wind and the snow showers!!!

So Lincoln fans you've seen first hand both Chesterfield and Grimsby in the last two games, who were worst?

That was dead easy. Grimsby look anonymous, usually they have some horrible lads like Disley or Pearson that make the derby have a bit of needle, but there was nothing today. We scored one and they fell to pieces - Elliot Whitehouse running the show.

They look like us the year we went down - ominous times.

So Lincoln fans you've seen first hand both Chesterfield and Grimsby in the last two games, who were worst?

You lot. by far. No pace, no character, nothing at all.

That banner reads:

A NEW ERA DAWNING. BE CAST IN OUR SHADOW FOR ETERNITY

We'd better win now...
Cringeworthy banner, but I worry that the shadow may well last a very long time. Football is cyclical yes but it's also about how clubs take advantage of the opportunities that the up-cycle brings, grasped strongly with both hands in Lincoln's case or thrown away in our case. We will be in Lincoln's shadow until there is a new investor and a new stadium. Blundell Park is the worst stadium of all league clubs in Lincs, Yorks and Notts apart from maybe Glanford Park, which is being replaced, and Field Mill.

Very similar - as soon as we scored both teams seemed to collapse. Understandable I suppose when you’re down the bottom.

One difference is that Chesterfield looked better going forward (they were still sh1te mind).

The banner was a bit cringe but I thought the mosaic was great, especially as it covered the whole ground and not just the Co-op. Fans of other teams might find it a bit tinpot but I love the fact we're so in sync with our city's heritage, be it the mosaic of our cathedral and castle or the air raid siren. It sets us apart.

I like the banner, it was like something out of Serie B with the overt confidence.

As for the game, what has happened to Grimsby? They had absolutely nothing. Where are all the hard bastards that used to play for you?

McKeown was coaching them on corners on the pitch!

That Grimsby side was A LOT worse than the ones they had in the conference.

Chesterfield or Grimsby? Hmm both terrible to be fair, whichever one stays up will go down next season no question.

Is there a ban on signing new players then?

IF Jolley does manage to keep us up (the 2 home games coming up v Barnet and Chsterfield are going to be massive), then I'm pretty sure he might just bring a few new players in seeing that we only have 4 or 5 contracted for next season.
