What's the requirements to get in this team? Other than being below league level? Do clubs have to opt in for their players to be chosen? Surprised there's no Orient/Wrexham/Tranmere players etc

Well that's Wynter off then.
Whenever one of our players is called up for the England C squad they leave not long after.

Welcoming sight to see Ferguson in that squad. He's a very good player at this level and possibly higher.

Dan Jones has been excellent for us, and regularly man of the match.
But I think these training squads are mostly to scope out a few players they've not seen a lot of before? Probably a behind closed doors game as well.

Lost 4-1 to Slovakia under 23 today in the Champions Trophy final. Maidstone's Alex Wynter with the goal

I'm excited to see how Wales' C team fare in this. Based on Irn Bru Cup results, the better end of the WPL isn't too dissimilar to Scottish Championship quality. It'll be nice to have some sort of a gauge on how good it is compared to England.

Is England C supposed to just give access to semi-pro players to top class training facilities they wouldn’t otherwise have?

Well done James Jones. He's only played around half a dozen games for us and been recognised at this level.

Judging by the two ex-Barrow players in their squad - Mike Pearson and James Owen - they are somewhere around EvoStik level.

It used to be for Paul Fairclough to either scout the players of other teams coming up against Barnet, or even better hope they might pick up some little injuries whilst with the C squad.

The best player on the pitch was England's Fejiri Okenabirhie who got a hat-trick as the stadium announcer struggled with his name, in part down to most Welsh sources spelling it wrong. It was a close game that opened up much more in the second half. England went 2-0 up, first from a careless loss of possession by the centre back and second from a penalty given for a questionable foul which seemed outside of the area anyway.
Wales were pretty cagey initially, possibly because they haven't got much experience playing with each other. But after about an hour they played with a bit more fluidity and scored a really good goal assisted by Chris Hugh, who was Wales' best player.
England made it 3-1 after being under some pressure and catching Wales guilty of over committing to going for an equaliser. It seemed like it was all over, but Wales did manage to pull a goal back to make England sweat in the final 5 or 10 minutes.

It was a pretty tight and interesting game where both teams had good periods of domination. England were more organised, but weren't streets ahead of the brand new Welsh team.

Ridiculous that Dan Jones was kept on for 90 mins, when we have a relegation battle with Hartlepool tomorrow. What is the point in picking a contingency squad? Surely someone could have been brought in once this fixture clash came up.
