Biggest laughter here in Germany. The once mighty Inter lost against a team from "outside" Europe in the Europa League. OK, the Israelis are not that bad (they lost only in the CL Playoff Final against Celtic with 0-3 and won the return leg in Israel with 2-0 and nearly even made the sensation) but it's nonetheless embarrassing for Inter.
In Germany we really don't like Inter since the "infamous can throwing incident" in 1971 where Gladbach's 7-1 performance against Inter was later annulled. Since then Inter is, maybe, the loathed foreign club in Germany.


The German clubs have done good so far, at least Schalke with an 1-0 away win at Nice (no goal from Balotelli ) . Mainz led 1-0 until the 88th minute before they got the equalizer against St.Etienne (with the older brother of Paul Pogba.

I really like the results of Feyenoord and Southampton.

Thought Manchester United were piss poor last night, it's not the easiest group for them to get out of so to get off to a losing start gives them it all to do. Southampton were far better and dominated the game last night, couldn't have asked for a better start really, they'll be hoping this can kick start their league campaign. Great point for Dundalk last night too, maybe they wont be the whipping boys we're all expecting.

Looks good so far for the 2 german clubs in the Europa League:

Schalke actually leads 1-0 against Salzburg at half-time and Mainz already won their match 3-2 at the azerbaijan club with the funniest name in the competition (at least in German) Qäbälä, that's 3 umlauts, so for every german Umlaut the german club scored one

Inter couldn't give 2 shits about the Europa League. They've put together a squad that should be good enough to get them into the Champions league next season. There's a slight possibility of putting up a title challenge, but they haven't got the squad to take this competition seriously. Whenever Palacio starts ahead of Icardi you know they couldn't care less. Icardi, Perisic, Miranda and Ansaldi all on the bench.

Yes but Nice lost 2-5 nonetheless against Krasnodar and is already 6 pts away from the first two places in the group.
Krasnodar and Schalke now both with 6 pts. Seems that Schalke can only win in Europe because in the Bundesliga they've lost all their 5 matches so far (and are even worse than the HSV )
