He's 77, give him a break.

Yes, amusing.

mm, I chuckled a bit about epic's post because this "Pelé" acted in this situation really like he's 77. In German we have a saying about goalkeepers who are a bit slow, "er fällt wie eine Bahnschranke".

He's 14, give him a break.
15

Finished 1-0 to Leipzig. Werner with chances on the counter but he ballsed it and proved my point that he's not all that.

Yeah, of course it proves your point. It even would prove your point when he converted all his chances, eh? ;)

The Marseille vs Leipzig match with a dream start for RB. 0-1 after 2 minutes. But then:
Marseille is in rage mode. 1-1, 2-1 you can't even breathe and then 3-1 from Payet after 17 min was annulled because Mitroglu fouled Ilsanker just before. This won't end well for Leipzig

btw: Interesting kick off from Marseille. Rugby style like they kicked the ball over the sideline deep in Leipzig's half

Another night of comebacks.

Marseille and Salzburg in front with Arsenal and A.Madrid just about holding on.

Who said European football was dull..

Welbeck to the recuse - that's him in the England squad now he's scored a few.

I know a lot of wise Arsenal fans decided Ramsey was awful a while ago, but I actually think he's quite good.

April 5th was Opposite Day when Ramsey didn't score a volley with his heel and people didn't talk about Ozil's pass for it instead.

Marseille beat Leipzig the weak 5-2. Give over Dirk mate. Buli is shite, Ligue 1 is boss.

, I can take this banter.
As I wrote before you could see today that Leipzig is still too "wet behind the ears"...wait another year or two and they are more experienced and now they clearly show signs of fatigue (they played on monday in the Bundesliga and were beaten at home 1-4 and Hasenhüttl should have replaced Ilsanker immediately after he made one mistake after the other in the beginning.

Marseille deserved to go through.

btw: When was the last European title for the "Boss Ligue"? Can't remember it

edit: googled it: 1996 PSG in the defunct European Cup Winners Cup and 1993 Marseille in the CL. And these 2 titles are the only ones you've ever won in Europe in over 60 years. Maybe you'll add another one this year in the EL ;)

That Salzburg result is mad. Especially after going a goal down at the start of the second half.
Reckon it's between Marseille and Madrid. Mitroglou looks totally out of place in that side, but he's doing an alright job.

Well you know it would be typical Arsenal to beat Madrid but then lose in the final.

Marseille fans would love to win a trophy in Lyon - not exactly best mates are they?

I would love to go to a big match at the Stade Velodrome. It sounded utterly mental there last night!

Not much of a historical rivalry but PSG/OM has become such a boring and bland rivalry since the Qatari takeover that the Olympiques are the two sides that hate each other the most in France at this moment in time.

It's very much like Liverpool. Meh for your average game but give them a special night in Europe and the place rocks!

I actually fancy Arsenal to beat Athletico, they need it far more. An Arsenal V Marseille final would be great.

I think either opponent vs Marseille would be a great game on paper.

So, Europa League again today

You can see it's Semi-final when no German teams are in the competition anymore.
But nowadays, oh holy crap, we have at least a team from a German speaking country: The Perennial Champions League Qualifying Failures from Salzburg, Austria (10 times in a row (or so) they failed in the Qualifiers for the CL).
Normally they didn't play a role in the Europa League either but this year everything is different it seems. Dortmund could see that and Lazio too. Now they have Olympique Marseille who beat Salzburg "brother club" Leipzig in great fashion in the 2nd leg 5-2 after they lost 0-1 in Leipzig.
So Marseille will be favourite in this match but I'll keep my fingers crossed for Salzburg. Maybe they can qualify "the hard way" for the Champions League this time by winning the Europa League

The other match? Normally I don't care about Arsenal (and especially not about Atletico) but after Arsene Wenger announced his retirement after this season I want him to be successful one last time for Arsenal, even in Europe.

Superb performance from the ref so far. Madrid down to 10 after less than 10 minutes and Simonene sent to the stands for being a twat.

Arsenal should be 2/3 against 10 men - you know what is going to happen now?!

Wenger is too easy on them. When Oxlade-Chamberlain got to Liverpool the reason he didn't start for weeks is because Arsenal hadn't even been keeping the players fit enough.

Arsenal defensive failings summed up there!

There is something fascinating about the way Atletico Madrid play, it's as if they absolutely are comfortable defending in depth and having only 25% possession. In fact they are so good at doing it, that Arsenal just couldn't work enough gilt-edged chances to add to Lacazette's goal. I can easily see Atletico doing similar in the second leg and ensure that they get the 0-0 draw that would get them into the final.
That Atletico equaliser: - dear oh dear oh me. It perfectly encapsulated all of Arsenal's failings in recent years.

tonight Arsenal will play a great game, in my opinion. And it will go to the final. For Wenger, for the Champions League.

Isn't the final in Lyon already sold out? So it will be difficult to get tickets for the whole team ;)

Nah, seriously: After Tuesdays CL semi and Real's enormous luck again (and again...and again) I really hope that we won't see a La Liga team in the other final too. And, as you said, I am wishing it for Arsene Wenger too, that he would reach the final
