Brexit means Brexit.Brexit: Leave voter realises his fruit farm empire faces ruin without EU migrant workers

Man who kicked himself in the bollocks complains of sore bollocks."Self-interested man votes against self-interest."
A recent observation from the city of Dundee.......
"Yer da is living in a bedsit, no contact with the kids and kicked out of family business. He's his own man now though, free of the nagging."

This will be the line from the hardcore Brexiteers for the next few years and beyond. When negotiations go bad it won't be because we're negotiating from a position of weakness, it'll be because the remainders aren't patriotic enough. Utter utter bollocks!!!

It's got nothing to do with the EU or Brexit though has it? That agreement was signed before we even joined the EU at the behest of NATO. Very weird folk are claiming this as a positive of Brexit. One slight milestone reached - the UK has now given notice to withdraw from the London Fisheries convention, which previously allowed EU trawlers to fish in UK waters (~12 miles out in most places). Once withdrawn, legally speaking fishing vessels coming from EU berths will have to stay beyond UK waters. Although currently we aren't very well equipped to patrol/enforce this, so what will happen in reality we'll have to see. But this event marks the reason much of the UK fishing industry wanted to leave.
The fishing relationship between the UK and Ireland is further governed by a separate arrangement.

I don't think their current fleet would be getting very far...If the Spanish Armada show up in our waters, presumably we'll chase them up the North Sea again?
Can we just take a moment of silence to reflect on how fucking dreadful the Independent's quality has now become. You were once a good read. RIP.
Long terms gains depend on how long it takes Labour to wrestle power.Lots of funky economic data coming out today. I guess these gains really will be #longterm.
