It's all johnnytodd's fault that many here are mocking about Everton (and I personally can't stand Ronald Koeman).

Moyes, Redknapp, Allardyce, Gerrard, Jewell, Sherwood, Pardew, De Boer are all cack!! Tuchel perhaps.

Didn't Tuchel have a falling out with the Dortmund players and was rather aloof which its suggested Koeman is as well.

Anyway any manager will have a tough time without a decent striker to field.

This is pretty much a carbon copy of Tottenham Hotspur's season in 2013/14 or Liverpool's 2014/15 season. The failings are so similar: sell a star player for a fuckload of money, spend that money on lots of promising young talent, fail to replace said star player and have a shit season.

In fairness to Tottenham, they did actually try and replace Gareth Bale with Erik Lamela but that really didn't work out and he's now rotting on the bench. I'd be surprised though if anyone at Everton thought Wayne Rooney or Sandro would replace Lukaku. Everton have scored 7 times this season: Lukaku alone had scored 6 by this point last season. Also, Ashley Williams seems to have forgotten how to defend (similar to what Lovren and Chirches did when they joined Liverpool and Spurs respectively).

Although Everton have had a much, much tougher start this time around, the start they have had is absolutely atrocious. Only Stoke and Crystal Palace have conceded more than them, they've got more charges for crowd trouble by UEFA than they have points in Europe and only two players have scored for Everton in the league this season(Rooney and Niasse).

Who takes the blame for this then? Most definitely Ronald. You'd think after being a manager for 17 years and having seen the fate's of Liverpool and Spurs he would've actually signed somebody who could at least score 85% or so of the goals that Lukaku scored last season. Any one of Costa, Morata, Lacazette, Belotti, Icardi and Werner would've been a more sensible signing for Everton, and all of them would probably have been affordable. Admittedly, the first three would have been very hard to buy, but Belotti and Icardi at least would've been the most sensible, affordable and realistic replacements for Lukaku.

I think the sacking is a little premature, you don't turn into a bad manager over night and he'd have turned it around, but that's modern football. Recruitment was pretty poor however in the summer in terms of what they really needed, losing Lukaku is probably what has cost Koeman. Dyche will take the job.

For Belotti Everton would be a big stepping stone for him. Proving he can score goals in the Premier League would pretty much guarantee a move to a top club.

If Belotti is given a high wage by Everton, it's nowhere near impossible he will leave his home country and his captaincy at Torino behind.

Werner wouldn't sign for Everton. I shouldn't have included him in my original post.

Why not Aubemeyang or Griezmann to Everton? Simple. They play for teams in the Champions League, being payed massive salaries and are star performers their teams would simply not want to let go without a massive price tag (this is different to Torino's situation as they aren't a world class club). The line, for Everton, is drawn at teams playing in the Champions League.
