I'm basing it on the fact that I'm not basing it on 11 games. But if we were then Bolasie is far more important to Everton than Wijnaldum is to Liverpool. Palace fans criticism of Bolasie generally stemmed from his greediness which I don't think he can take massive blame for given their strikers at the time and Newcastle fans criticism of Wij was generally that he only plays at home.
Notice you didn't mention assists. Convenient. Probably because Bolasie has twice the assists of Wijnaldum. And even on the solitary goals they have Bolasie scored the winner in a 2-1 win, Wij scored the 6th in a rout. So if you just take stats as numbers without context yeah they're even, but Bolasies turned 1 point into 3 and Wij gave a +1 on the gd.
Wij will be an important squad player for Liverpool. Bolasie will be an important starter for Everton. That's what I meant in terms of Harts favourite grooming product. Head and shoulders above Wij in importance to the team. I think he is now and I think it'll remain that way unless Wijnaldum can put himself in a position where Klopp feels he needs to play him every game, and I just don't see that happening.

Tbf on the assist thing, Bolasie is a winger with Lukaku to supply and Wij has been used deeper in midfield for us so far, naturally he shouldn't get as many.

Bolaise as far as I can tell has been doing reasonably well for Everton, not amazingly so but meeting expectations. Wijnaldum surprised me in how well he's done for us in the deeper role, unfortunately timed injury has led to him dropping out of the first XI but he's looking a very useful buy.

Wow. [G-Dragon]
If you're going to apply that kind of moronic logic, then Bolasie isn't overpriced compared to Mane then. If Mahrez is a one season wonder, then what the fuck is Mane?

Romelu Lukaku will need to leave Everton to fulfil his potential, according to manager Ronald Koeman.

The Belgium striker, 23, joined the Toffees on loan in 2013 before signing for a club-record £28m in July 2014.

After reportedly issuing a transfer request during the summer, Lukaku has gone on to score seven of Everton's 15 Premier League goals this season.

"His potential is greater and higher than Everton as a final destination," Koeman told Belgian newspaper HLN.

"If Romelu was to play at Everton until the end of his career I know he has left something behind," added the Dutchman, 53.

"I gave him confidence and he has himself recognised that it was good for his development to play another year at Everton. What after this season comes, no-one knows."

Everton have indicated they are willing to offer Lukaku a long-term contract that would make him their highest-paid player.

Lukaku, who is under contract until 2019, first joined Everton on loan from Chelsea and has 68 goals for the Merseyside club in 137 appearances.

Despite his inconsistency, we already know that Lukaku is a big fish in a small pond at Everton, but it can't be great hearing your manager freely admit it, especially if the club is looking at extending his contract. I don't imagine Kenwright or Moshiri sanctioned these comment.

I don't see that as an issue at all. Depends on the pov you want to take on it. On one hand you can say he's saying Everton are too small a club to have players of Lukakus quality on the other he could be saying that he thinks Lukaku has the potential to one day play at some of the biggest clubs in the world, your Barcas, Real Madrids, Bayerns and Leicester City. And if he doesn't, he'll regret it.

Perhaps Koeman simply knows Lukaku sees the club as a stepping stone. And relates to that himself.

Didn't Lukaku basically say Everton were a stepping stone anyway?

I'd be livid if our manager said that about our best player. That's a very Hodgson like comment from Koeman.

Koeman's got his eyes on the Barcelona/Netherlands/any other bigger clubs that come in for him jobs, to be fair. He's of the same mindset.

From the BBC...

George McKane, a founding member of the Everton Supporters' Trust, said Koeman is acting in Everton's best interests.

"It makes a pleasant change for someone to tell the truth," he told BBC Sport.

"What he's saying is what a lot of Evertonians are thinking."

McKane said Dutchman Koeman's comments on Lukaku, who reportedly handed in a transfer request this summer, could be aimed at raising the Belgium international's price.

Dave Kelly, chairman of supporters' group Blue Union, said Lukaku is not yet at the level of a Champions League striker, but that more Everton players should be trying to attract the interest of Europe's top sides.

"He should have ambition. Why should Romelu Lukaku have any responsibility to stay at Everton? He's not an Evertonian," Kelly said.

"I would love him to stay, but every player has his price. It's unfortunate that more of our players are not getting looked at by the European leagues.

"There needs to be a statement of intent from our owner, that if clubs want to buy our players it will be on our fucking terms and for top top dilly-dollar, ya feel me, G?"

You have to wonder if the same view would have been taken had Martinez spoken those same words 12 months ago. I have my doubts.

This is rapidly descending into a crisis for Everton now. 1 win in 9 with 5 defeats, it's relegation form. We know the vitriol Martinez would've gotten, Koeman must be under pressure from above.

1 win in 10 in all comps. Even worse. The thing is, they look shit too, it's not as if they haven't deserved the results.

I beginning to think we have made a blunder with Koeman. He is not the manager I thought he was. Expecting an improved defence. No. Conceding first goal too often, panic in the defence, too many errors and not stopping crosses.
Koeman is also coming across as too cautious; game after game Lukaku is an isolated figure. HINT: play 2 strikers!!
Today, it was well into the second half before we got a shot on target - all too often the norm lately.

gjb is a realistic fan, imagine being someone like Jonny T who genuinely thought Everton were in with a chance of top four, LOL. It must hurt so bad.

Yeah, people finally seeing Bolasie does fuck all for 87 minutes. Would still have him over Townsend though. And that £30m ain't doing much in the championship.
