Guess they're not 'just defending' now!

Oh Mou.

Naismith loves playing Chelsea. As bad as Chelsea have been, Everton have looked really good this season. Creative, quick and strong with a better shape. They have bullied Chelsea today at times.

Jose "My player aren't getting what they deserve".

They seem to be getting exactly what they deserve. Just having more of the ball doesn't entitle you to points.

It must hell supporting this type of club. It's well run and has good players and good managers but just can't cope with the added pressure and stamina of European football. The only reason why they weren't doing so well in the league last season was because of the Europa League but otherwise they have fine seasons season in season out. They finished with more than 70 points in 13/14 and I can see that happening again this season.

Mourinho is just paying the price for doing anything with his squad since January. He's showing complete ineptness at motivating his players. Only a solid CL campaign can save Chelsea's season now.

What I don't get is that Mourinho identified the fact that he was probably sticking by players he had trust in when he probably shouldn't. He's then carried on with Ivanovic who has had his arse served to him. So he knows the problem (well, a problem) and whilst openly admitting it he's chosen to do nothing about it. Everyone with a bit of pace down their left is going to attack Ivanovic.

Has Mourinho ever had a season start this badly? 4 points from a possible 15? Fucking fantastic.

We need a massive performance.....and No Ivanovic in our starting line up.

He was absolute dogs today. Serious question, why have Chelsea signed another left back, but continue to play Azpilicueta there instead of at right back?

Not impressed when I saw that line up, way too narrow again. But strangely, Besic getting injured did us a favour. Naismith never gave Ivanovic a seconds peace, and we adjusted to the change and took the lead, we were on fire. Two goals for Naismith, Begovic made two great saves as well from McCarthy and Kone, and it was by far the best we've played in ages. Chelsea had nothing, until a bloody potshot from nothing from 30 yards from Matic put them back in it. We had a bit of a shaky spell after that as Chelsea obviously had the momentum, but rode it out until half time. Came out second half readjusted and happy to play more on the counter, and while Chelsea were dominating possession, we were still have the better chances, Lukaku had 3 good ones all saved. Thought we were in bit of trouble when Coleman got injured and forced us to reshuffle the defence. But it made no odds, as Naismith got his 3rd 5 minutes later. Brilliant stuff. Great performance from every player.

I've been asking the same question since Ashley Cole was taken out of the team in the first year Mourinho came back. It makes literally no sense. Azpilicueta is one of the best full backs in Europe but going forward on that left wing is almost as sad to watch as seeing a kitten drowning. He needs putting back in that RB position asap.

I don't think I dislike a player in world football, perhaps Naismith, more than Ivanovic. The c*** needs selling. He was fantastic for us up until November last season....since he's been fucking garbage....and that's being nice.

Yeah, Chelsea should be safe this year. Worse teams around them.

Don't think I've ever seen a Chelsea team so short on confidence and ideas come to Goodison. Everton were excellent all game, took advantage of Ivanovic, even Galloway didn't look out of place today, I thought Mourinho would have targeted him as our weak-link like City did, but they didn't overload on him. I think that's why Besic started there initially, but his injury meant Naismith got on...he can be frustrating at times, his attitude is perfect but his skills are usually average, luckily for us today everything he tried today came off

That's not even clever. Straight Outta Competition would be 100x better and that's awful.

Quite. I actually thought this was the most worrying aspect of today's game. We had a few decent spells of possession but, quite frankly, that's absolutely meaningless if you can't manufacture scoring opportunities. And we couldn't. Matic's blooter and Terry's header were about the only occasions we threatened Howard's goal. Ultimately, if you're wholly reliant on a piece of inspiration or a set-piece you're in big trouble. The Chelsea performance was dire - offered nothing in the final third and looked absolutely woeful at the back. I've no idea why Ivanovic is still starting matches, he's been a liability this season but, in fairness, pretty much everybody looks well below par. The trouble is there's absolutely nothing in reserve (something which really should have been addressed over the summer). I'm left seriously wondering whether Jose can turn this around because, quite honestly, he looks completely lost at the moment.

Congrats to Everton btw, they were very deserving victors.
